Vandoren B40 CM307 B-flat Clarinet Mouthpiece, Black
Product description
The B40’s facing length is designed to give clarinetists flexibility, helping them shape their playing across different musical passages. Its round, full-bodied sound profile gives this Vandoren mouthpiece a clear character.
A distinctive internal and external design, including a different exterior beak angle, offers an alternative feel to a traditional mouthpiece. That can be useful when playing position, comfort, articulation or projection are part of your choice.
Made for B-flat clarinet, the black B40 is listed in Vandoren’s Traditional style. It brings together a flexible response and a balanced, full-bodied sound profile in a recognisable Vandoren design.

Who it’s for
The B40 is suited to B-flat clarinetists looking for a mouthpiece with a rounded, full-bodied sound and a flexible facing. Its design was developed specifically for American and Australian clarinetists, and the different exterior beak angle offers an alternative to the feel of a traditional mouthpiece. Players weighing up mouthpiece designs can focus on this combination of beak angle, facing length and sound profile when deciding what suits their playing position and musical needs.
For a practical comparison, a player who prefers the feel of a conventional beak angle may lean towards a traditional design, the B40 is worth considering when a different exterior angle and a flexible, full-bodied character are priorities. In a rehearsal or practice setting, that combination gives the player a defined sound profile to work with while articulating passages and shaping musical lines.
