ZXHQ Lock Journal with Pen, A5 Refillable Diary, Combination Lock, 100 GSM Paper

If you want a dedicated place for personal thoughts, notes, or plans, the ZXHQ Lock Journal pairs a combination lock with a refillable A5 format. Its 100 GSM paper gives daily writing a substantial feel, while the pen holder and included pen set keep a writing tool close at hand.

Use it as a journal, planner, notebook, or sketchbook. The embossed faux-leather cover, vintage-inspired brown page edges, and ribbon bookmarks give it a distinctive look and make it easy to return to a marked page.

What matters most

The combination lock adds a layer of privacy for personal entries, reflections, and notes. Follow the included instructions when setting the code, then use the journal as a place to collect writing you prefer to keep separate from an open notebook. The lock is designed for privacy, while the book format keeps your entries together in one place.

Inside, 224 pages of cream-colored, 100 GSM paper provide room for ongoing writing. The ruled pages suit daily entries and organized notes, and the journal can also serve as a planner or sketchbook. A ribbon bookmark helps you pick up where you left off, while the inner pocket holds loose notes or small keepsakes. The pen holder keeps your pen alongside the journal rather than loose in a bag.

Buyers often praise the journal’s appearance and mention it as a gift for someone who enjoys writing. Feedback on the combination lock is mixed: some find it works well, while others describe difficulty setting the code or opening the journal. Taking a moment to follow the supplied instructions when setting it up can help make the process clearer.

Quick sizing guide

The A5 writing area measures 5.9 × 8.5 inches, and the hardcover journal measures 8.5 inches long by 5.9 inches wide and 1.5 inches thick. This compact book-style format suits a desk, backpack, or bedside table, with space for regular entries without taking up the footprint of a larger notebook. Choose it when you want a portable journal with room for writing, rather than a loose collection of notes or a pocket-sized notepad.

Getting the most from it

Set the combination according to the included instructions before making the journal part of your routine. Keep the pen in its holder and use a ribbon bookmark to mark an ongoing entry, a planning page, or a section you revisit often. The inner pocket provides a handy place for loose paper and small mementos, so related items can stay with the journal.

For everyday use, dedicate pages to one purpose—such as daily reflections, plans, or private notes—or let the refillable design support continued use by replacing the inner paper when needed. A standard notebook may suit writing that does not call for a lock, this journal brings privacy, refillable pages, and built-in organization together in one format.

Is it worth it?

This journal is a practical fit for someone who wants more than a basic notebook: it combines a privacy-minded lock, refillable pages, 100 GSM paper, and useful details for keeping writing organized. Its vintage-inspired embossed cover and brown-edged pages also give it a thoughtful presentation as a gift. For personal journaling, planning, or notes kept together in an A5 book, the pen holder, bookmarks, and inner pocket make the everyday setup especially convenient.
