Wyze Wireless Video Doorbell 1536x1536
Product description
For households that want to see who is at the door—and whether a package is sitting below the camera—this Wyze video doorbell uses a square, head-to-toe view rather than a narrow horizontal frame.
It can run on its rechargeable battery or be hardwired, so the setup does not have to depend on existing doorbell wiring.

The tradeoff is that some parts of the experience, including a separate chime and the microSD card, are not included.

Best use cases

The 1:1 view is intended to show visitors from head to toe and capture packages close to the door. That can be useful when you want a clearer look at a delivery without opening the door: check the phone notification, view the porch, then use two-way audio to speak with the person outside. Color night vision is also designed to provide color images in low light.
The doorbell can send phone notifications for visitors and package deliveries, and its Person/Vehicle/Package Monitor adds those detection categories. You can speak through the Wyze app or tap an auto-response, an optional voice prompt can tell visitors they are being recorded. It’s a great fit if you want these basic porch interactions without a required monthly subscription.

Product specs
The camera records at 1536x1536 resolution and has a 150°×150° field of view. Power options are a built-in, rechargeable USB-C battery or hardwiring. According to the maker, battery life can reach up to six months, actual time between charges will depend on use, so treat that figure as a stated maximum rather than a guarantee for every household. The battery detaches for charging with the included USB-C cable.

Local storage requires a separately purchased microSD card, with support up to 256 GB in FAT32 or exFAT format. For 24/7 local recording, the doorbell must be hardwired and set up with a card. Optional Cam Plus provides 14 days of cloud video storage. Chime options include a Wyze Chime Controller, Wyze Universal Wi-Fi Chime, or a Wyze Cam, these are sold separately.

Where it shines

The main practical advantage is the combination of a square view and two-way communication. A conventional doorbell view can prioritize a visitor’s face, this framing is meant to include more of the area below, which matters when a small delivery is tucked close to the threshold. If someone arrives while you are in another room, you can check the alert and respond from the app rather than walking to the door first.
The choice between battery and wired power also makes it more adaptable than a doorbell that only works with existing wiring. But 24/7 local recording is not available from battery power alone, and useful chime options add separate accessories. It may not suit you if you want continuous recording without wiring or expect a chime to be included.

When it makes sense
Choose this model if you value a head-to-toe porch view, remote conversations, and the option to avoid a required subscription. It is also worth considering when your entry does not have convenient wiring, provided you are comfortable detaching and recharging the battery as needed.
If your priority is round-the-clock local footage, plan on hardwiring the doorbell and buying a compatible microSD card. If you mainly need a simple alert and an included indoor chime, a more basic, self-contained setup may be a better match. The key decision is whether the wider view and flexible power options are worth planning around the separately sold storage and chime accessories.
