Wisedog Dog Collar, XS 8.5"-12

For rainy walks, muddy trails, or a trip to the beach, a fabric collar can hold on to water and grime. The Wisedog dog collar uses PVC rubber-coated webbing and a quick-release metal buckle, giving outdoor-loving dogs an alternative that can be wiped clean after messy outings.

Its XS adjustment range is 8.5"-12", so the neck measurement matters more than the size label. The gray collar has a metal D-ring for leash attachment.

Technical details

The collar is made from PVC rubber-coated webbing with a sturdy core. Its smooth surface is designed not to absorb moisture and odors like fabric, and the product description says mud, sand, and dirt can be wiped off with a damp cloth or wet tissue. That makes cleanup after a wet walk straightforward, rather than leaving a soaked collar to dry.

The quick-release metal buckle is described as corrosion-resistant and fast to open, while the D-ring is also described as corrosion-resistant. The listing does not provide a collar width or a pulling-load rating, so size and material alone do not tell you whether the hardware is suitable for every dog. Check those details on the spec sheet if they matter for your choice.

Compatibility & requirements

The D-ring is intended to connect to a standard leash. A matching Wisedog waterproof leash is sold separately, but the collar does not require that specific accessory according to the product information. Its listed adjustment range is 8.5"-12", measure your dog's neck and compare it with that range before choosing XS. The listing does not give separate breed or weight guidance, so those are not reliable substitutes for a neck measurement.

It suits you if your dog often comes back from a walk with a damp, sandy, or muddy collar and you want a surface that is simple to wipe down. Not the best choice if your dog needs a specified collar width, a documented load rating, or sizing information beyond the stated range, those details are not supplied here.

Usage tips

After a swim or a muddy outing, wipe the collar with a damp cloth or wet tissue and check that the buckle and leash ring are clear of grit before putting it back on. For a beach walk, that means sand can be removed at home instead of staying caught in fabric. Adjust the slider to a secure fit, then confirm the buckle is closed before attaching the leash.

The quick-release design may be useful when you need to remove the collar promptly, while the smooth PVC-coated material favors easy cleanup over the softer feel of a fabric collar. The listing does not describe padding or reflective details, so shoppers who specifically want either feature should look for a collar that states it explicitly.

Practical doubts

Can this collar be used for swimming? The product is described for swimming, beach, and outdoor use, and its PVC-coated webbing is intended to shed water. No care or drying instructions beyond wiping it clean are provided.

Will it fit my dog? XS adjusts from 8.5" to 12". Compare that range with your dog's neck measurement, the listing does not specify a breed-based fit.

Do I need the matching leash? No specific leash is required in the supplied details. The D-ring is described as compatible with standard leashes, while the matching Wisedog leash is an optional separate purchase.

Should you buy it?

Choose this collar if easy cleanup and a water-resistant, odor-resistant material are priorities for everyday outdoor walks, and your dog's neck falls within the stated XS range. Its practical appeal is strongest for owners who prefer wiping down a smooth PVC-coated collar instead of washing and drying fabric. Skip it if you need verified hardware-load information, a stated width, or a softer or padded design: the available details do not establish those features.
