Waterdrop WD-PT-05B 7-Cup Water Filter Pitcher, Blue, with 3 Filters

The activated coconut carbon block reduces chlorine and PFOA/PFOS, helping improve the taste of everyday tap water. The Waterdrop WD-PT-05B pitcher pairs that filtration with a compact, fridge-friendly design.

Its 7-cup capacity suits daily use at home, in a dorm, or at the office. Three replacement filters are included, so you have spares ready when it is time for a change.

A built-in indicator tracks filter status, and the hands-free lid dispenses water without opening the lid. Want a pitcher that also reduces TDS? This model does not lower TDS, so a pitcher designed for TDS reduction is the better fit for that specific goal.

What matters most

This pitcher uses multi-stage filtration to reduce chlorine, PFOA/PFOS, odor, iron, and metal ions. Its filtration performance is certified to NSF/ANSI 42 and 372. The manufacturer reports a residual chlorine reduction rate of up to 97.4%, a detail that matters if chlorine taste is a concern in your drinking water. It is designed to improve taste and reduce specified substances, rather than lower the water’s TDS reading.

The compact body is intended to fit in most refrigerators, making chilled filtered water easy to keep on hand without choosing a countertop dispenser. A 7-cup capacity works well for individual use, smaller households, or shared kitchen spaces where a pitcher is more practical than a larger water system. The included three replacement filters add convenience when planning ongoing use.

Buyers often praise the filtered water’s taste and describe the filtration as effective and quick. Feedback on durability is mixed: some customers raise concerns about the pouring mechanism or lid, so treat those comments as individual experiences rather than a measure of every unit.

Who it’s for

The WD-PT-05B is suited to people who want a refrigerator-ready pitcher for everyday drinking water and value reduction of chlorine and PFOA/PFOS. Its blue finish adds a clear color choice, while the indicator helps keep filter changes in view. The hands-free lid is useful when filling a glass frequently, since water can be dispensed without removing the lid.

Compared with a larger dispenser, a pitcher takes up less refrigerator space and is easy to move between the kitchen, office, or dorm. Choose this filtration approach when taste and the listed substance reductions are priorities, if lowering TDS is the main objective, a model specifically designed for TDS reduction better matches that need.

Practical tips

Before first use, soak the filter in cold tap water for 10 minutes. Wash the pitcher, lid, and reservoir with mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly. Press the filter firmly into the reservoir to create a tight seal, and discard the first two pitchers of filtered water or use that water on plants.

To activate the filter-life indicator, hold its button for 5 seconds until the blue light flashes. Repeat this step whenever you replace the filter, then use the indicator to monitor its status. For routine cleaning, hand-wash with mild detergent, avoid the dishwasher and abrasive cleansers. When ordering replacement filters, use genuine Waterdrop PF-01A filters and confirm the pitcher model for a precise fit.

Final verdict

For a compact, 7-cup pitcher that fits into a refrigerator routine, the WD-PT-05B brings together certified filtration, a filter-status indicator, and three included replacement filters. It is a practical choice for people seeking better-tasting everyday water with reductions in chlorine and PFOA/PFOS, served straight from a blue, fridge-friendly pitcher.
