Uross URO-DTFZD-110-Silver Cat Carpet Protector Mat, Cut-to-Fit PVC

Protect the carpet beneath a doorway from a cat’s scratching with the Uross URO-DTFZD-110-Silver. This silver PVC mat is designed for indoor use and can be trimmed to suit the opening or shaped with single- or double-sided wings for a more tailored fit.

Its textured surface and rugged backing are designed to help reduce slipping, while the flexible plastic makes it possible to adapt the mat to the area you want to cover.

How to use it

Measure the doorway before placing the mat. It is sized for doorways 27 1/2" to 35 15/16" wide, and its wider design can be cut to shape with scissors or another suitable cutting tool. Use it as a strip beneath the door or trim it into wings to extend protection along one or both sides of the opening.

The mat is shipped rolled, so flatten it before use. Position it on the floor with the textured surface facing up. For cleaning, hand wash it and let it dry before putting it back in place.

Where it shines

This mat focuses protection on a common scratching spot: the carpet under a door. Rather than covering a larger section of flooring, you can trim the sheet to the doorway and shape its edges for the area you want to shield. That makes it useful for homes where a cat returns to the same threshold to scratch, while the silver glitter finish gives the protector a defined look on the floor.

Buyers commonly appreciate that the mat can be cut to size and report that it helps deter scratching beneath doors. Feedback on stability is mixed: some say it stays in place, while others find it can move on carpet. How much coverage do you need at the threshold? The mat’s 14.96-inch width gives you material to tailor the coverage rather than relying on a narrow, fixed strip.

Questions before you buy

What doorway width is this mat designed for? It is listed for doorways from 27 1/2" to 35 15/16" wide. Measure the opening and use the cut-to-fit design to adjust the mat’s shape.

Can I trim it for a custom layout? Yes. The widened PVC sheet can be cut into the shape you need, including single-sided or double-sided wings.

What should I do before placing it? Since it is rolled for shipping, flatten it before use. Hand wash the mat when it needs cleaning.

When it makes sense
