Traovien DIN 5-Pin MIDI Splitter Cable, 1 Male to 2 Female
Product description
Some music and stereo setups need a simple way to connect equipment through 5-pin DIN ports, while others call for a different cable arrangement. The Traovien splitter has one male plug and two female connections in a Y layout. Need a cable suited to MIDI gear as well as compatible DIN stereo equipment? Its stated uses cover both.
Getting the most from it
Use this cable when your setup calls for a male 5-pin DIN connection to branch into two female 5-pin DIN connections. It is intended for musical instruments such as MIDI keyboards, synthesizers, organs, electric pianos, and guitars. The same connector format is also described for Bang & Olufsen, Naim, Quad, and other European-style stereo equipment with a DIN 5 connection.
For example, when arranging a keyboard or synthesizer with compatible DIN connections, the Y layout gives you two female connection points from one male plug. Match the connector type and layout to the equipment in your setup before connecting. This is a focused cable choice for DIN-based wiring, rather than a general-purpose audio lead with a different connector format.

Why it’s worth it
The Y-shaped layout brings two female DIN connections to a single male plug, making the cable useful when that specific arrangement is needed in a music or stereo setup. Its 5-pin DIN connectors make the intended connection type easy to identify, and the listed instrument compatibility covers a range of common electronic instruments, from keyboards and synthesizers to organs and electric pianos.
Construction details support everyday handling: the cable has a PVC jacket, and its overmolded ends provide strain relief at the connector transitions. The tangle-free feature is also useful when storing or organizing a short cable between uses. At 50 cm / 1.6 ft, it is a compact lead for nearby equipment connections where a longer cable run is not the goal.
If you are choosing between a cable with a single connection at each end and a Y splitter, the key difference is the connector arrangement. This Traovien cable is designed for a setup that calls for one male 5-pin DIN plug and two female connections, with compatibility stated for both MIDI instruments and DIN 5 stereo equipment.
