Toner Bank LC406XL LC406 Compatible Ink Cartridges, 4-Pack, Black and Color

If you need replacement ink for a compatible Brother printer, this Toner Bank set pairs LC406XL cartridges with a listed range of MFC and HL-JF1 models. It supplies black, cyan, magenta, and yellow ink for everyday document and color printing.

The compatible four-cartridge set is a non-OEM alternative, with page-yield figures provided for both black and color.

The essentials

The pack contains one black LC406XL cartridge and one each in cyan, magenta, and yellow, plus a user guide. The listed yields are up to 6,000 pages for the black cartridge and 5,000 pages per color cartridge, based on 5% coverage on A4 paper. These figures give you a practical reference when planning replacement supplies, actual page counts depend on what you print and how much of each page is covered in ink.

Because the set includes all four listed ink colors, it can replenish black text printing as well as color output in one purchase. If you prefer an alternative to OEM cartridges, this compatible set offers that route while retaining the LC406XL designation used for the supported printers. Buyers report positive experiences with fit and ink duration, while feedback on print and color quality is mixed, some also mention leakage. Those opinions are individual experiences rather than a guarantee of results.

How it fits

These cartridges are listed for Brother MFC-J4335DW, MFC-J5855DW, MFC-J6555DW, MFC-J4535DW, MFC-J6955DW, MFC-J4345DW, and MFC-J5955DW printers, as well as HL-JF1 and the listed XL versions of select MFC models. Matching the printer’s model to this compatibility list is the useful first step when choosing replacement ink. Is your printer among those models? The LC406XL and LC406 labels make it easier to identify the cartridge family for this set.

Worth considering if you want a single set of black and color cartridges for a compatible printer rather than sourcing each color separately. It is designed for inkjet printing on plain paper, making it suited to routine documents and color pages at home or in a work setting.

Getting the most from it

During installation, avoid removing or touching the cartridge chip. If the printer displays a “non-original” prompt, the provided instructions say to select OK or Next to continue. For “low ink,” “empty,” or “replace ink cartridge” messages, the instructions recommend removing and reinstalling the cartridge several times. Following these steps gives you a clear process for handling the prompts associated with compatible cartridges.

For everyday use, black ink supports text-focused pages, while the cyan, magenta, and yellow cartridges serve color printing. The stated yield figures assume 5% page coverage, so pages with heavier ink coverage may use ink differently. Keep the four colors together as a replacement set when you want to refresh the printer’s listed LC406XL ink supply.

Buying verdict

Its key buying details are the complete black-and-color set, clearly stated per-cartridge yield figures, and model-specific compatibility list—useful for keeping routine printing supplied with the colors needed for both text and color pages.
