Timber Ridge Folding Rocking Camping Chair, 400 lb Capacity

For campers and patio sitters who want a rocking seat with a more supportive back than a basic folding chair, the Timber Ridge oversized rocker brings padding, storage pockets, and a steel frame into a foldable design. Its wider seat and listed 400-pound capacity make it worth considering for people who prefer more room. It opens without assembly, so it can go from a car to a campsite or lawn without a setup routine. The tradeoff is its packed length: folded, it measures 39 inches, which may take more room than a compact camp chair.

Key specifications

The chair measures 38 inches long, 22.5 inches wide, and 43.5 inches high when open. Its padded backrest is 32.5 inches high, and the seat is listed as up to 22.5 inches wide. Timber Ridge specifies a weight capacity of 400 pounds. A powder-coated steel frame supports 600D Oxford fabric, with hard armrests, side pockets, and a bottom pocket for a cell phone. There is also a safety latch, though the product information does not explain its operation in detail.

For storage and transport, the folded package measures 27 inches long, 6.5 inches wide, and 39 inches high. That fold-flat shape is useful for moving the chair between the trunk, campsite, and backyard, but the length is a practical constraint if storage space is tight. It is a different approach from choosing the smallest possible camp chair: here, the emphasis is on a padded high back and rocking comfort rather than a minimal packed footprint.

Who it’s for

It suits you if you want a chair for slow, seated downtime—say, rocking beside a campsite while a drink rests nearby, or keeping your phone within reach on the patio. The high padded back and wider seat are the standout comfort features, while the hard armrests provide a firm place to rest your arms. It may also suit family gatherings where you want a portable chair that can move from the lawn to the patio without assembly.

You may want to skip it if you need a chair that packs especially small, or if you prefer soft armrests. The listed dimensions also don’t tell us the chair’s weight, so the information provided isn’t enough to judge how easy it will be to carry over a long distance. Without having tried it, the most useful buying distinction is clear: prioritize its padded rocking format if that matters more than minimizing bulk.

Everyday use

This is designed for relaxed outdoor sitting, not for someone looking for a bare-bones seat that disappears into a small storage space. Open it up for a backyard break, then fold it down when the gathering moves indoors. The pockets add a place for small items and a phone, reducing the need to keep those essentials on the ground. Because assembly isn’t required, the setup is straightforward, just allow for the listed folded dimensions when planning where it will ride or be stored.

Practical doubts

Does it require assembly? The product information says no assembly is required, it is expanded for use and folded for transport.

Can a phone be stored in the chair? Yes. A bottom phone-storage pocket is listed, along with side pockets.

What is the folded size? The packaged dimensions are 27 inches long, 6.5 inches wide, and 39 inches high.

Final verdict

The Timber Ridge rocker makes sense when a padded high back, a wider seat, and a rocking motion matter more than a small packed size. Its 400-pound capacity, steel frame, and 600D Oxford fabric give buyers concrete specifications to weigh, and the pockets add everyday convenience. The main reason to pass is practical rather than complicated: its 39-inch folded length may be awkward for tight storage or buyers who want a compact carry chair. Choose it for patio or campsite lounging when that footprint works, look for a smaller folding design if pack space comes first.
