Snuowu 16-Inch Freestanding Dog Gate, 6-Panel Folding Metal Barrier

Place it across a hallway, kitchen entrance, or doorway to create a flexible boundary for a small dog. The Snuowu gate stands 16 inches tall and adjusts to fit openings up to 72 inches wide. Its six metal panels fold into a Z or accordion shape, making it easy to reposition around the home. The low profile also lets adults step over without opening a gate door.

Quick overview

This freestanding pet barrier is designed for miniature and small dogs under 15 pounds, with suitability depending on your pet’s jumping ability. Its metal panels are joined by flexible hinges, so you can shape the gate to suit a doorway or a wider area rather than relying on one fixed layout. At 16 inches high and up to 72 inches wide, it offers a low-profile way to separate a small dog from spaces such as a hallway or kitchen.

Setup does not require tools or drilling. Four support legs with non-slip pads help keep the gate in place and protect floors during use. When you need to clear the area, fold the panels flat for storage or transport. The folded gate measures 3.1 inches thick, and the product weighs 8 pounds, making it practical to move between rooms or take along on a trip.

Who it’s for

Choose this barrier for a small dog that can be managed with a low, step-over boundary. The 16-inch height is intended for small breeds and puppies, not large dogs or high jumpers. Consider your pet’s size and jumping ability when deciding whether this style of gate fits the space and purpose. It’s especially useful when you want a boundary that people can cross easily without opening a door or operating a latch.

Buyers commonly praise the gate’s height, ease of setup, appearance, and usefulness for containing small dogs. Some also describe the adjustment experience differently, so the flexible panel layout is best viewed as a way to shape the barrier to your space rather than a fixed-width installation.

Everyday use

For a kitchen doorway, unfold the panels to span the opening and arrange them in a stable shape with the support legs in place. The dual-direction hinges let the gate fold in either direction and adapt across widths from 18 to 72 inches. That flexibility can also help block off a hallway or create a boundary around a specific area, such as a Christmas tree.

Unlike a taller gate that must be opened to pass through, this low barrier is designed for adults to step over. It also folds down when the boundary is no longer needed, giving it a different role from a permanently mounted gate. For routine use, set it where you want the boundary and fold it away when you need the floor space back.

Buying verdict

The Snuowu gate suits households looking for a movable, low-profile barrier for a small dog, rather than a tall, door-style gate. Its metal six-panel design, adjustable width, tool-free setup, and fold-flat storage make it practical for changing spaces and everyday room separation. If your pet’s size and jumping ability suit a 16-inch barrier, it offers an easy-to-step-over way to define areas around the home.
