PAWSCRAT DS-4 4-Step Pet Stairs, 19.6-Inch Gray Foam Steps

Small dogs that need a way onto a high bed or sofa are the main audience for the PAWSCRAT DS-4. Its four steps reach a listed height of 19.6 inches, giving pets a stair-style route to elevated resting spots.

The steps are made with 30D soft foam and have a non-slip bottom. A removable, washable polyester cover makes routine cleaning more manageable, the foam core should not be machine washed or dried.

The stairs arrive vacuum-packed and need time to expand after unpacking. Allow 24 to 48 hours for them to reach their full shape before judging the finished fit beside your furniture.

Everyday use

Place the stairs beside a bed or sofa your dog is allowed to use. The four-step layout offers a series of smaller climbs rather than requiring a pet to jump directly onto the furniture. The listed height is 19.6 inches, so measure the destination first and consider whether that height suits the bed or couch. The product is described for small dogs and cats, but the listing does not provide a weight capacity.

For day-to-day care, the cover can be removed for washing. That is useful for a spot where paws and fur regularly meet the stairs, though cleaning the foam itself requires a different approach: the manufacturer says not to put the core in a washer or dryer. Because the stairs are compressed for shipping, plan for the stated 24–48-hour expansion period before relying on their final shape.

Why it’s worth it

The appeal is straightforward: a soft-foam stair unit for helping a small pet reach a familiar bed or sofa, without choosing a ramp-style product. Its removable cover adds a practical cleaning option, and the gray color may suit a more neutral room setup. It’s a great fit if your pet needs access to furniture and the listed height matches the spot you have in mind.

Buyer feedback is generally positive about usability, softness, stability, and suitability for small dogs. Some owners also say their pets can climb up and down without slipping. Experiences with fitting the cover are mixed, however, so putting it on may take more effort than the simple, no-assembly description suggests.

Should you buy it?

Consider the DS-4 when you want four foam steps for a small dog or cat and can give the compressed unit time to expand. It might not be a great match if your bed or sofa needs a different stair height, the manufacturer recommends measuring the furniture before choosing. The listing gives no weight limit, so it does not establish suitability for pets outside its stated small-dog focus. For a home where a washable outer cover and a stair format matter more than a ramp, this model addresses those needs without adding features that are not specified.
