Silkland S3501 USB-C Cable, 20Gbps, 240W, 1 ft Braided

At 1 ft long, the Silkland S3501 USB-C to USB-C cable keeps a connection between nearby devices compact and easy to manage. Its short format suits a desk setup with a laptop, portable monitor, hub, or external SSD.

With data transfer rates up to 20Gbps, it supports high-speed connections for compatible USB-C devices. That makes it useful for moving files between a computer and an external drive without a long cable taking up space.

The cable also supports charging up to 240W and video output for compatible devices. Its nylon-braided exterior provides a durable finish for everyday indoor connections.

Who it’s for

This cable is designed for people connecting USB-C equipment close together: a laptop and portable monitor, a computer and docking station, or a USB-C hub and external SSD. The 1 ft length helps keep a compact workspace tidy, while the USB-C male-to-male connectors make it suitable for direct connections between devices with matching ports.

For monitor use, the connected device’s USB-C port must support DisplayPort Alt Mode. The cable supports 4K video output at up to 60Hz when the devices and setup support that mode. It can also connect compatible laptops, smartphones, tablets, monitors, and hubs or docks. Worth considering if you want one short cable for data, charging, and supported USB-C display connections rather than separate cables for each task.

Strengths

The main advantage is the combination of high-speed data, high-wattage charging, and video support in one compact cable. Connect an external SSD to a laptop for file transfers, use it to link a compatible portable monitor, or charge a supported device with a suitable USB-C charger. The short reach is especially practical when the devices sit side by side, keeping extra cable out of the way.

Buyers highlight its use with portable monitors, fast file transfers, and charging capability. Some also appreciate having a direct USB-C display connection for compatible screens. Feedback on flexibility is mixed, so the braided cable’s feel may vary by preference, its compact length helps keep a close-range setup organized either way.

The 240W rating is useful when the connected charger and device support the required power level. For video, DisplayPort Alt Mode support on the source device is essential. Matching those capabilities lets the cable serve multiple roles in a laptop, monitor, dock, and storage setup without changing connector type.

Is it worth it?

The Silkland S3501 is a practical fit for a close-range USB-C connection where fast data transfer, charging, and display support are all useful. Its 20Gbps data rate helps with compatible storage and hubs, while the 240W charging capacity and support for 4K video add flexibility for a desk or portable-monitor setup. Choose it when a short, braided USB-C cable can connect your devices directly and keep the workspace uncluttered.
