X-Sense SWS54 Wi-Fi Water Leak Detector Kit, 3 Sensors, 120 dB, IP66
Product description
A three-sensor format lets the X-Sense SWS54 monitor several leak-prone spots from one kit, such as the area beside a washing machine, under a sink, or near a water heater. Each sensor uses upper probes to detect drips and bottom probes to sense pooling water as shallow as 0.4 mm. When water is detected, the sensors and base station sound alarms rated at 120 dB, and the system can send a phone notification.
The wireless range is listed as up to 1,804 ft in open areas, so placement across a larger home may be possible, though actual conditions can differ from an open-area range. Setup requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, 5 GHz Wi-Fi is not supported.

The IP66-rated housing is intended for areas exposed to splashes, moisture, and humidity. That makes the kit relevant for laundry rooms, basements, garages, kitchens, and bathrooms, as well as spots near dishwashers, toilets, sump pumps, and refrigerators. The app also supports sharing access with up to 12 users and reminder options for active alerts. These details matter if more than one person needs to keep track of a leak notification.
Compatibility & requirements
The system connects through the app and requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, it does not support 5 GHz Wi-Fi. The listed compatible device categories include smartphones, smart home systems, and home automation systems. The product information does not name specific platforms, so buyers looking for integration with a particular setup should not assume it is supported.
In buyer feedback, people often describe setup as easy and praise the audible alarm and phone notifications. Connectivity experiences are mixed, however, and some buyers report false alarms while others describe reliable operation. Those accounts are useful context, but they do not guarantee how the kit will perform in a particular home.
Tips for day-to-day use
Place sensors where water would collect or drip, such as beside a washer or beneath a sink, and keep the base station within the stated wireless range. For a real-world setup, the three sensors could cover separate high-risk areas while the app lets household members share access. Reminders can be set for 10 or 30 minutes, or 2, 6, or 12 hours, which can help keep an active alert visible while it is being addressed.
It makes sense if you want one kit to monitor several locations and value both a local alarm and phone alerts. Not the best choice if your available Wi-Fi is 5 GHz only, since that network is not supported.
Before you decide
Does the kit include batteries? Yes. The listed package requires three AAA batteries, and they are included.
Can it connect to 5 GHz Wi-Fi? No. The stated setup requirement is a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
Can several people receive access? The app supports sharing device access with up to 12 users. The product details do not specify additional requirements for those users.
Should you buy it?
Choose the SWS54 if you need leak alerts in multiple places and want the option of both a loud sensor-and-base alarm and app notifications. Its shallow-water detection and splash-resistant housing suit common household leak zones, while the open-area range offers placement flexibility. The decision hinges on having 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and being comfortable with mixed buyer reports on connectivity and false alarms, if either is a dealbreaker, a simpler standalone alarm or a system confirmed for your network may fit better.
