San Jamar SJMR4000TBK Classic Twin Jumbo Bath Tissue Dispenser, Pearl Black

A low-traffic restroom may need only a straightforward paper supply, while a busy shared space benefits from having a backup roll ready. The San Jamar SJMR4000TBK holds two jumbo bath tissue rolls and transfers supply automatically when the first roll is empty. Its translucent cover helps staff see paper levels, and the locking design supports controlled access for refills.

Key takeaways

This wall-mounted dispenser accommodates two 9-inch jumbo rolls with a 3.25-inch core. Keeping the second roll in reserve can help maintain paper availability in commercial and institutional restrooms without requiring staff to replace a roll after every partial use. The transfer system releases the backup roll only after the first has been fully used, helping reduce stub-roll waste and keep the supply rotation orderly.

Made from break-resistant plastic, the dispenser is designed for regular use in high-traffic restrooms. The Pearl Black finish gives it a clean, understated appearance, while the slim profile is intended for spaces where wall area is limited. A translucent cover provides a quick view of the remaining paper, so staff can identify when a refill is needed during routine checks. The locking mechanism and two included keys provide secure access for replenishment and maintenance.

Customers have described the dispenser as functional and well made, with one noting its suitability for restaurant bathrooms. These comments reflect buyer impressions rather than a performance guarantee, but they align with the product’s dual-roll design and commercial restroom use.

Practical tips

Mount the dispenser on the wall and use the included keys to open it for loading or servicing. During routine restroom checks, the translucent cover makes it possible to assess the paper supply without opening the unit. When replacing an older model, its mounting-hole pattern is designed to match the previous model, which can simplify an upgrade in an existing restroom layout.

For facilities comparing a basic single-roll setup with a higher-capacity dispenser, the twin-roll arrangement offers a practical way to keep reserve tissue on hand. Match the roll format to the dispenser: it is designed for 9-inch jumbo rolls with a 3.25-inch core, and the listed roll compatibility includes products from any brand.

Everyday use

In a restaurant restroom during a busy service, staff can check the translucent cover as part of a regular walkthrough and see whether paper is running low. When the first jumbo roll runs out, the transfer system makes the second roll available, keeping the supply organized without leaving a partly used stub roll behind. The two-roll capacity is useful in shared facilities where restocking needs to fit into scheduled maintenance rather than happen after every roll change.

The wall-mounted format keeps the dispenser positioned at the point of use, while its break-resistant plastic construction is suited to the demands of frequently used commercial spaces. For an existing restroom, the compatible mounting pattern can also be useful when replacing the earlier model as part of a fixture update.

What to clarify

What type of tissue rolls does it hold? It is designed for two 9-inch jumbo bath tissue rolls with a 3.25-inch core. The product information states that rolls from any brand can be used when they match this format.

When does the second roll become available? The transfer system keeps the second roll in reserve until the first roll is fully used, then releases it for use.

Can it replace an older dispenser? Its mounting-hole pattern is designed to align with the previous model, allowing replacement in an existing layout without additional drilling for that pattern.

Final verdict

The San Jamar SJMR4000TBK is a strong fit for commercial and institutional restrooms that need two jumbo rolls ready in one wall-mounted dispenser. Its automatic roll transfer, visible paper supply, keyed access, and break-resistant plastic construction make it a practical choice for organized, routine restroom servicing.
