Repel Travel Umbrella

Key specifications

Some compact umbrellas prioritize a small packed size, this one is described as pairing a travel-ready folding design with a reinforced frame for windier conditions. That makes it more appealing if you want one umbrella for everyday carry rather than a delicate, fair-weather backup.

Repel lists nine flexible ribs, a vented canopy, reinforced fiberglass ribs, and an automatic open-and-close button. Its description says the umbrella was tested to 100 MPH. That’s a product claim, not enough on its own to show how it will perform in every real storm. The canopy is also described as blocking rain, snow, and UV light, so it can serve as shade as well as rain cover.

There’s no canopy measurement or folded size provided. Without that measurement, it’s harder to judge how much coverage you’ll get or how neatly it will fit a particular bag.

Who it’s for

This travel umbrella is aimed at commuters, travelers, and anyone who wants a folding option to keep in a car, backpack, purse, or carry-on. The automatic button is useful when rain starts as you step off a curb or reach for a door: press once to open the canopy, then use the same button to close it. The shaft still needs to be pushed down to finish closing.

The listing describes extra range for two people, but gives no canopy dimensions, so treat that as a general indication rather than a precise fit guarantee. A compact, light umbrella is easier to carry than a full-size stick umbrella, in return, shoppers who need known coverage or a specific packed length may prefer a product with measurements listed.

In the box

A carrying case is included, according to the product description. It’s intended to make it easier to put the folded umbrella into a personal bag. No other included accessories are specified.

Before you decide

How does the automatic open-and-close feature work? Press the handle button once to open the canopy and again to collapse it. Let the canopy fully collapse, then push the shaft down by hand to finish. The instructions warn against forcing the canopy closed by hand.

Is it intended for windy weather? The description highlights a vented canopy and reinforced fiberglass ribs and says the umbrella was tested to 100 MPH. That gives a sense of its wind-resistance focus, but doesn’t establish performance in every storm or make it unbreakable.

Can it be used for sun as well as rain? The canopy is described as blocking UV light, so the stated use goes beyond wet weather. No UV rating or coverage dimensions are provided.

When it makes sense

A solid pick if you want a portable umbrella with one-button operation, a case, and design features aimed at resisting flips in wind. Picture keeping it in your car, then opening it with one hand when a sudden shower hits the parking lot, that’s the kind of everyday convenience this format is built around.

You may want to skip it if you need confirmed canopy dimensions, a specific packed measurement, or independently documented storm performance. Its appeal is the combination of portability and wind-focused construction, not a guarantee that it will suit every weather condition or coverage need.
