Travel Umbrella, 11.5-Inch Folded Length

A small umbrella can be easy to carry but frustrating when a gust turns it inside out or rain blows past the canopy. This compact travel umbrella is designed to address that tradeoff with a vented canopy, flexible fiberglass ribs, and a folding frame, while still packing down to 11.5 inches. Its automatic button opens and releases the canopy, which makes it handy when you’re getting out of a car or heading into sudden rain. The listing says it was tested to withstand winds up to 100 mph, though it doesn’t describe the test conditions, that claim is worth treating as a product specification, not a guarantee for every storm.

Getting the most from it

For daily use, the compact folded size makes this easier to keep in a backpack, purse, carry-on, or car than a full-size stick umbrella. Picture stepping off a bus in a downpour: press the button to open the canopy, get covered, then use the same button when you’re ready to close it. The canopy has nine flexible ribs and a vented design, and the product description says it provides coverage from rain and UV light. A case is included for storing it after use.

Closing takes an extra step. Let the canopy collapse fully after pressing the button, then push the shaft down to finish, the instructions say not to force the canopy closed by hand. That’s a small but practical difference from an umbrella that simply folds shut in one motion, especially when you’re juggling a bag or getting into a vehicle.

Why it’s worth it

The appeal is portability paired with a frame designed to resist flipping and bending. It weighs under one pound and folds to 11.5 inches, but its construction includes reinforced fiberglass ribs and a strong fabric canopy. If you prioritize something you can keep nearby for commutes and travel, the automatic opening and compact storage are useful features. If you prefer the simplest possible close or need a canopy with clearly stated dimensions, the listing doesn’t provide those details.

Without having tried it, the stated wind test is difficult to assess because no testing method or conditions are given. The umbrella is described as having extra coverage for two people, but there’s no canopy measurement to help judge how much room that means in practice. Worth considering if you want a portable umbrella with more emphasis on wind resistance than a basic folding model. It may not suit you if you need verified coverage measurements or a fully specified performance test before choosing.

Key takeaways

The core buying decision is whether the compact format and reinforced design match how you’ll carry and use an umbrella. At under one pound, it’s aimed at everyday carry, travel, and keeping in a car rather than replacing a larger umbrella for maximum coverage. The black folding design is described as suitable for adults, and the automatic button is intended to make quick opening easier. The tradeoff is that the shaft still needs to be pushed down by hand after the canopy collapses, so automatic operation doesn’t mean completely hands-free closing.

Buying verdict

Choose this travel umbrella if you want a compact option to leave in a bag or car, value one-touch opening, and are drawn to a vented canopy with a reinforced frame. It offers more wind-focused construction than a very basic compact umbrella, while staying easier to carry than a full-size model. Skip it if you need published canopy dimensions, documented wind-test conditions, or a closing mechanism that finishes with a button press alone. The stated 100 mph test claim may catch your attention, but the lack of test details is the main reason to keep expectations measured.
