Purivortex PX500 Air Purifier with 6-Inch HEPA Filter, Black

Designed for rooms up to 880 sq ft, the Purivortex PX500 combines a three-layer filter with a 6-inch filter design. Its pre-filter, HEPA filter, and activated carbon layer target particles and everyday odors. Four fan modes and timer settings make it easy to tailor operation to your routine. The black finish and fragrance sponge complete this home air purifier.

At a glance

The PX500 is rated to purify a room up to 880 sq ft in one hour, or a 215 sq ft room in about 15 minutes under the stated test conditions. Its three-layer system filters up to 99.97% of pollutants, including dust, smoke, pollen, pet dander, and VOCs, and captures particles as small as 0.1 microns. Activated carbon helps reduce light household odors from cooking, smoke, and pets.

Filter size is another practical point of difference: the purifier uses a 6-inch filter, compared with the 4-inch filters described as typical for purifiers of this size. That gives shoppers comparing filter formats a clear feature to weigh alongside the room coverage. The filter paper is FSC-certified and sourced from responsibly managed forests. The unit is ozone-free and has ETL, FCC, and CARB certifications, its performance was also independently tested by SGS and in an ISO 17025-certified laboratory.

Getting the most from it

Choose from Sleep, Low, Medium, or High fan mode to suit the room and the moment. Three timer settings—4, 8, or 12 hours—let you schedule a run without leaving the purifier on indefinitely. For bedrooms or evening use, Sleep mode and the selectable night light give you options for a quieter-feeling setup, the light modes are multicolor, blue, green, and purple.

In a living room where cooking smells, pet dander, and dust are everyday concerns, the layered filter addresses both airborne particles and light odors. For a larger open room, the stated coverage helps indicate how the unit is intended to be used, for a smaller room, the 215 sq ft test example offers a more specific reference point. Its two-year warranty adds a defined period of product support.

How to use it

Place the air purifier in the room you want to treat, then select a fan mode that fits your needs. Use the timer when you want a set operating period, or choose Sleep mode for nighttime operation. The product name identifies a fragrance sponge, use it as part of the unit’s fragrance feature according to the product instructions. The purifier is designed to filter common indoor pollutants, while its carbon layer helps with light household odors.

For everyday home use, the controls support simple adjustments as routines change: a higher fan setting when you want a more active run, a lower setting for quieter periods, or a timer for scheduled operation. This makes the PX500 a practical fit for spaces where pollen, smoke, dust, pet dander, hair, or cooking odors are regular considerations.

Final verdict

The Purivortex PX500 brings together room coverage up to 880 sq ft, a 6-inch three-layer filter, and straightforward choices for fan speed, timing, and night lighting. It suits households looking for a home air purifier that addresses common particles as well as light odors, with a fragrance sponge and a two-year warranty as useful extras.
