Purivortex PX500 Air Purifier, 880 Sq Ft Coverage, HEPA Filter, Black

Choosing an air purifier can mean prioritizing coverage for a larger room or a focused refresh for a bedroom. The Purivortex PX500 is designed for both kinds of use, with stated coverage up to 880 sq ft in one hour and a faster purification example for a 215 sq ft room.

Its three-layer filter combines a pre-filter, HEPA filter, and activated carbon to address particles and light household odors in one unit. Four fan modes and timer settings let you tailor operation to your routine.

Best use cases

Use the PX500 in a bedroom, living area, or other home space where dust, pollen, smoke, or pet dander are concerns. Purivortex states that it can purify a 215 sq ft room in about 15 minutes, while coverage extends to rooms up to 880 sq ft over one hour. Those figures help when matching the purifier to the size of the space and the pace of air cleaning you want.

The filter system also addresses light household odors from pets, cooking, and smoke. That makes it useful in shared spaces where airborne particles and everyday smells can be part of the same concern. For a smaller room, the stated 215 sq ft timing offers a specific reference point, for a larger space, the 880 sq ft coverage provides a broader placement option.

Strengths

The three-stage design gives the PX500 a practical range: the pre-filter, HEPA filter, and activated carbon work together to filter common airborne pollutants, while the carbon layer helps reduce light odors. The stated filtration rate is up to 99.97% for pollutants, including dust, smoke, pollen, pet dander, and VOCs. Independent testing cited by Purivortex measured filtration of particles as small as 0.1 microns.

The 6-inch filter is a distinguishing design detail. Purivortex compares it with the 4-inch filters used by many purifiers of this size, describing the larger filter as a way to draw in more air. Its paper is FSC-certified and sourced from responsibly managed forests.

Controls support different times of day and preferences: Sleep, Low, Med, and High fan modes pair with 4H, 8H, and 12H timer settings. The four night-light options—Multicolor, Blue, Green, and Purple—add a choice of ambient color. ETL, FCC, and CARB certifications, along with SGS laboratory testing, are also cited for the product. A 2-year warranty is included.
