Protescreen Magnetic Privacy Screen Protector 13.6-inch

A magnetic attachment makes this privacy filter removable, so you can put it on for a café work session and take it off when you want an unobstructed screen. No adhesive is needed.

Its micro-louver design is intended to limit side viewing to about 30 degrees on each side. That can help keep on-screen work less visible to nearby people in shared spaces.

The key limitation is easy to miss: it does not block the view from behind you. Is that enough privacy for where you work?

Fit and sizing

The listing says this filter fits MacBook Air 13.6-inch and 13-inch models released from 2022 through 2026, including M2, M3, M4, and M5 versions. It also lists model numbers A2681, A3113, A3240, and A3449. Since the listed screen sizes and model generations overlap, match your MacBook’s model number before choosing it rather than relying on the screen size alone.

Installation is described as aligning the magnetic strip with the top of the display. The removable format and included storage clip are useful if you only need privacy at certain times—for example, putting the filter on before opening work documents on a train, then removing it for a shared movie. From the way it is set up, it is more suited to occasional privacy than to a fixed, always-on screen cover.

Pros

The main draw is convenience: magnetic attachment avoids adhesive, and the filter can be removed when the narrower viewing angle is not wanted. The listing also describes a sliding camera cover, an oleophobic layer intended to resist fingerprints, and a washable surface. Those details may appeal if the screen filter will travel between home, an office, and public spaces.

The product claims 93% light transmittance, 95% reflected-light blocking, 95% blue-light blocking, and up to 92% UV reduction. Treat these as manufacturer-stated figures, not a guarantee of a particular viewing experience. The filter is also presented as protection against dust and scratches, but it is not a substitute for checking how the screen looks and feels with an added layer.

You’ll appreciate it if you want a removable side-privacy screen for work in cafés, airports, or open offices. It may not suit you if you need privacy from someone seated directly behind you, or if you want a permanent, adhesive screen protector that stays in place.

Should you buy it?

Choose this Protescreen filter if your main concern is people beside you catching a glimpse of your MacBook screen, and you value being able to remove the filter between work sessions. Its magnetic setup and storage clip suit a use-it-when-needed routine better than a screen layer meant to remain attached all day.

Skip it if your privacy concern includes people behind you: the listing explicitly says the filter does not block that view. And because the product is listed for several Air sizes and model generations, a matching model number matters more than assuming every 13-inch MacBook Air uses the same fit.
