PLATO 6823 Baltic Herring Dog Treats, Air-Dried Whole Fish, 8.5 oz

The 8.5-ounce bag holds whole, air-dried Baltic herring for dogs. Each treat uses a single ingredient: wild-caught fish from the Baltic Sea. Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids make it a fish-based option for skin and coat support. Its straightforward ingredient list also offers a clear alternative to treats made with multiple ingredients.

What to know

These treats are made from 100% whole Baltic herring, with no added ingredients. The fish is sustainably wild-caught and gently air-dried in a human-grade facility in Northern Europe using certified green energy. A guaranteed minimum of 50% crude protein and at least 5% Omega-3 are listed for the product, the herring also provides Omega-6 fatty acids. The intended benefit is support for healthy skin and coat, alongside a single-source fish treat for dogs at all life stages.

The ingredient profile is grain-free and free from corn, wheat, soy, artificial flavors, and preservatives. That simplicity distinguishes it from blended treats with fillers or added flavors. Buyers often praise dogs’ enthusiasm for the taste and appreciate the single-ingredient recipe. Feedback is mixed on the fishy odor and piece size, and some buyers describe different responses to the treats, including dogs that decline them or experience digestive upset. Individual dogs can respond differently, so introduce a new treat in a way that suits your dog.

Usage tips

Serve as a dog treat, keeping the whole-fish format in mind when choosing a piece for your dog. The treats are recommended for small, medium, and large dogs, and the product is described as suitable for all life stages. Buyers’ comments on size vary: some find the pieces appropriate, while others prefer smaller pieces for small dogs. Consider your dog’s comfort with the size and texture when offering one. The air-dried format makes the fish itself the focus, rather than a soft or mixed-ingredient bite.

Best use cases

Choose these Baltic herring treats when you want a fish-based snack with a short ingredient list and a documented Omega profile. They suit treat routines for dogs of different sizes and ages, and the skin-and-coat support claim makes them relevant for owners seeking a treat with that specific benefit. The whole-fish format also works for shoppers who prefer to recognize the main ingredient at a glance instead of choosing a recipe built around several components.

For a practical treat moment, offer a piece as a reward or snack and observe how your dog responds to its fish flavor and texture. Buyer feedback on taste is often positive, though acceptance is not universal. The fish odor also draws mixed reactions, so this format is particularly appealing to people comfortable with the distinctive smell of fish treats.
