Plano PLA11836 All-Weather 36-Inch Scoped Rifle/Shotgun Case

When transporting a scoped rifle or shotgun, a hard case helps keep the firearm enclosed and organized. The Plano All-Weather case pairs a rigid shell with a continuous Dri-Loc seal to help shield its contents from water and dust.

Its pre-perforated pluck-to-fit foam lets you shape the interior around your firearm, so the case can be customized for your setup. The pressure release valve equalizes pressure changes caused by altitude or temperature, a useful feature for travel.

At 36 inches, this black case is designed for rifles and shotguns, including scoped firearms. Its lockable, dual-stage latches add a secure closure for storage and transport.

Fit and sizing

The case measures 38.4 in. x 16.8 in. x 6.4 in. on the outside, with an interior measuring 37 in. x 14 in. x 5 in. Use the interior measurements to assess how your firearm and its mounted scope will fit. The 36-inch size and scoped-rifle/shotgun format make it a practical choice for organizing a compatible long gun in a dedicated hard case.

The foam is pre-perforated for pluck-to-fit customization. Remove the sections needed to create a shaped resting area for your firearm, then arrange the interior around the setup you intend to carry. This customizable layout is useful when a one-shape-fits-all interior does not suit your equipment.

Why it’s worth it

A hard shell, a continuous watertight and dust-proof seal, and lockable latches bring protection-focused features together in one case. The seal is designed to help keep out water and dust, while the rigid exterior provides a sturdy enclosure for storage and transport. The pressure release valve is also designed to equalize pressure changes linked to altitude or temperature, supporting travel use.

For shoppers choosing between a soft-sided carrier and a protective hard case, this model puts the emphasis on a rigid shell, a sealed closure, and a customizable foam interior. Buyers praise its sturdy construction, functionality, latches, and the ease of shaping the pluck foam. Feedback on foam quality is mixed, so the most useful feature to consider for your setup is the ability to customize its layout.
