Ostritec Solar Watering Can Lights, Metal

For gardeners who want a decorative accent as well as a little after-dark glow, this Ostritec solar watering can set adds a cat silhouette and cascading fairy lights to a yard, patio, lawn, or garden. The lights are arranged to suggest water spilling from the can, giving the piece more visual character than a basic stake light. Its solar setup avoids an outdoor power cord, though placement matters: the panel needs daylight to charge, and the lights are designed for ambiance rather than focused illumination.

Best use cases

Place the shepherd hook beside a flower bed, along a garden path, or near a patio seating area where the cat shape and twinkling strands can be seen after sunset. The copper-wire strands can be bent into different shapes, so you can adjust their drape instead of leaving them in a fixed arrangement. For example, you could fan them beneath the spout to make the flowing-water effect more visible against a darker patch of garden.

This is a decorative solar light, not a substitute for lighting that helps you see steps or perform outdoor tasks. It makes more sense for adding a focal point than for brightening a large area. Worth considering if you want a whimsical garden accent without running wiring, It’s not for you if you need a strong, directed beam or want full control over when the lights operate.

Product specs

The listing describes a two-pack of metal watering-can decorations with cat-pattern shepherd hooks. Each light set has six strands and 36 LEDs, the light wire is 23.6 inches long, and the hook is 32.3 inches tall. The listing says the wire can be shaped, and its tail can be trimmed without affecting the other LEDs. Zip ties are included to secure the lantern to the hook.

The solar lights switch on automatically in darkness and off during the day when the switch is left in the “on” position. The stated charging time is 6–8 hours, with 8–12 hours of use afterward. The copper-wire lights are listed as IP65 waterproof, while the metal construction is described as suitable for outdoor weather. That rating is specifically given for the light wire, so it should not be read as a separate rating for every component. The can’s dimensions aren’t provided, if you are trying to fit it into a narrow space, you may be deciding without that measurement.

Where it shines

The main draw is the combination of a recognizable watering-can shape, cat detail, and small points of light that appear to cascade from the spout. Compared with a plain solar stake light, this offers more decorative presence, compared with wired landscape lighting, it gives up consistent powered illumination in exchange for a simpler setup without an external power supply. The strands are also flexible enough to arrange for a fuller or looser look, depending on the spot.

For a dependable evening display, choose a place where the solar panel can receive daylight and where the lights are visible after dark. How noticeable will a small decorative light be in a bright, open yard? Its effect is likely to read best as an accent near a planting bed or seating area, rather than as the only light source across a broad lawn.

Is it worth it?

This set makes sense if the priority is personality: a cat-themed ornament, a flowing-light effect, and solar operation in one garden decoration. The listed runtime and charging window provide a useful expectation, but actual results depend on the panel receiving enough light, the product details don’t specify a battery capacity or a lighting control beyond the on/off switch and automatic day-night behavior. If your buying decision depends on exact fit, measure the intended spot and compare it with the 32.3-inch hook height, keeping in mind that the watering can’s own dimensions are not listed. Choose it for a visible, playful accent, pass if your first need is bright, predictable path or security lighting.
