One Dark Throne: Three Dark Crowns, Book 2 Audiobook by Kendare Blake

Listeners looking for a continuing fantasy story have a different need from those choosing a standalone listen. One Dark Throne is the second book in Kendare Blake’s Three Dark Crowns series, making it a fit for following the series beyond its opening installment. Its unabridged audiobook format brings the story to audio, with Amy Landon as narrator.

At 11 hours and 6 minutes, it offers a substantial listen for fans of teen fantasy who want to stay with the series over multiple listening sessions.

Best use cases

Choose this audiobook when you’re ready to continue Three Dark Crowns in order, rather than begin with a standalone title. The book’s place as installment two gives returning listeners a clear next step in the series. Its teen fantasy category also makes it relevant for listeners browsing stories centered on family and siblings, as well as epic fantasy for teens.

The audio format suits a listening routine: you can pick up the story during a dedicated session and return to it later. With a runtime of 11 hours and 6 minutes, it provides room for an extended fantasy narrative instead of a brief audio selection. The unabridged presentation is a strong match for listeners who want the full audiobook edition.

Strengths

The appeal here is the combination of an ongoing series and an audio performance. Amy Landon narrates, giving listeners a single credited voice to follow through this installment. Since it is book two, the audiobook also serves readers who already know the series and want to continue with its next entry.

Customer feedback often highlights the story’s twists, engaging plot, character development, and brisk action. Listeners also describe it as an exciting sequel, with layered female leads among the elements they appreciate. Opinions on readability are mixed: some find the prose easy to follow, while others find the story confusing. That range is useful context if you’re deciding whether its style suits your listening preferences, the title’s series position and teen-fantasy classification remain clear starting points for the choice.
