OMAIC BN59-01385A Universal Samsung TV Remote, Infrared, 13 Buttons

Infrared control gives this OMAIC replacement a listed range of up to 33 feet, so it can handle everyday TV commands from across a typical room. It is intended for Samsung televisions and is advertised as working without setup, making it a straightforward alternative when replacing a missing or worn remote.

The compatibility claims cover several Samsung TV families, including Smart, Frame, Curved, QLED, LED, LCD, UHD, SUHD, and 3D models. The supplied details also name specific compatible TV models, which gives buyers a useful starting point for checking fit rather than relying only on the broad all-Samsung claim.

It also lists multiple Samsung remote references, including BN59-01260A, BN59-01266A, and BN59-01385A. These details are useful when comparing the remote with the number on an existing controller or checking a specific television before purchase.

Usage tips

The product is described as ready to use without settings. Insert two batteries before use, they are not included. The listing gives conflicting battery-type details, so it is safer to confirm the required type from the remote or its packaging rather than assume a specific size from the product copy.

Because it uses infrared, the remote is aimed at TV control rather than a wireless connection through a network. Its stated range of up to 33 feet can help when the seating area is farther from the television, while the 13-button layout keeps the control surface focused. The listing does not explain which functions each button operates, so buyers who need a particular shortcut should not assume it is present based on the button count alone.

Everyday use

For a household replacing a lost Samsung remote, the appeal is simple: it is a dedicated button-based controller, not a phone app or a remote that the listing says needs a setup process. That can be useful when the original remote is unavailable and basic control from the couch is the priority. The broad compatibility description may also make it relevant across several Samsung TV styles, but the named model list is the more concrete reference for a purchase decision.

A programmable universal remote may make more sense for someone who wants one controller for several different types of home-entertainment equipment. This OMAIC model is presented for televisions, with support for up to 18 devices stated in the specifications, but the listing does not detail control of other equipment. Worth considering if you need a Samsung TV replacement and can match the compatibility information to your set.

Final verdict

This remote is most compelling as a practical replacement for a compatible Samsung TV: it uses infrared, has a stated 33-foot maximum range, and is described as requiring no settings. The specific TV and remote references help narrow the compatibility check. It is less clearly suited to buyers looking for a fully documented button-by-button feature list or a universal controller with confirmed support for equipment beyond a television. Check the model information for your TV and plan to supply the two required batteries.
