Ohniyou Ceiling Fan 60-Inch

For moving air across a covered patio, garage, or indoor room, a large ceiling fan can make more sense than relying on a small portable fan aimed at one spot. The Ohniyou is a 60-inch, no-light model with six aluminum blades, remote and app control, and a reversible DC motor. Its six speed settings and timer give you ways to adjust airflow around your routine, while the included downrods offer more than one mounting length. It’s designed for covered outdoor use as well as indoor spaces, so placement matters.

Highlights

The main appeal is the combination of broad blade coverage and adjustable airflow. You can select among six speeds, use the remote or app, and reverse the motor for seasonal air circulation. That gives the fan a more flexible role than a basic single-speed model, especially in a garage or covered patio where you may want a different setting while working, relaxing, or entertaining.

The motor is described as energy-saving and rated for 35 dB operation in the product information, those are manufacturer-listed claims, not independent measurements. A 1-, 4-, or 8-hour timer is included. There’s no built-in light, which keeps the design focused on airflow but means you’ll need separate lighting if the fan is going somewhere that needs it. It suits you if you want remote or app control and seasonal direction changes in one ceiling-mounted unit. Not the best choice if integrated lighting is a must-have.

How to use it

Use the remote or app to choose a speed that suits the space, then set the timer if you want the fan to stop after a set period. For example, in a garage, you could switch it on before a project and adjust the airflow without walking back to the wall, on a covered patio, a lower setting may be more comfortable while people are seated. The reversible motor is intended to circulate air in both summer and winter, though the listing doesn’t explain the direction-setting process.

The package includes 8-inch and 16-inch downrods, which can be combined to reach 24 inches. That gives you some flexibility for different ceiling heights, but the listing doesn’t provide installation dimensions beyond those rod lengths. Keep in mind that this is specified for covered outdoor areas, not as an unrestricted outdoor fan, an exposed location isn’t supported by the information provided.

Practical tips

Before choosing a mounting spot, consider whether the fan’s 60-inch size suits the available ceiling area and whether the supplied downrod options fit your setup. The product includes a printed manual and an instructional video, which may help with installation, but no installation time or special requirements are stated. If you’re comparing it with a simpler fan, the useful distinction here is the added app control, reversible operation, multiple speeds, and included rod options—not a built-in light or a stated airflow figure.

The six aluminum blades and metal construction are presented as durable and resistant to rust and fading. That may be appealing for a covered patio, but the listing doesn’t specify a weather-resistance rating or care instructions. Plan on using the fan within the covered-area guidance rather than assuming it can handle direct exposure to the elements.

Practical doubts

Does this fan include a light? No. It’s described as a ceiling fan without lights, so plan for separate room or patio lighting if needed.

Can it be controlled without the app? Yes. The product listing specifies both a remote and app control, giving you a remote-based option as well.

What downrod lengths are included? The package lists 8-inch and 16-inch downrods that can be combined to make a 24-inch length.

Buying verdict

This Ohniyou fan is worth considering if you want a large, six-speed ceiling fan for a covered patio, garage, or indoor space and value remote/app control plus reversible operation. Its no-light design, 60-inch size, and stated covered-outdoor use are the key trade-offs to weigh before buying. Choose a simpler fan if you don’t need the extra controls or seasonal direction change, choose another setup if your location is exposed or an integrated light is essential.
