Niviy Placemats Set of 4

Setting the table for a weeknight dinner or a small holiday gathering is easier when each place has its own defined space. These dark blue placemats add color while helping catch spills and protect the table from everyday marks.

The set includes four washable mats made from 100% linen. Each measures 12 x 18 inches, with room for a plate, cup, and cutlery.

Their navy tone suits both daily meals and festive table settings, indoors or outside. Keep in mind that no maximum heat rating is listed, so use a trivet for very hot cookware rather than relying on a placemat alone.

What matters most

The practical appeal here is a reusable place setting that combines table coverage with a strong color accent. The product is described as heat-resistant, anti-skid, and waterproof, and intended to help guard against scratches, stains, and food spills. Those claims make the mats useful for meals where a little mess is likely, though they don’t tell you how much heat or liquid the fabric can handle.

The 100% linen construction gives the set a fabric look rather than the wipe-clean feel of a rigid plastic mat. That distinction matters: choose these if you want the table setting to contribute to the room’s decor as well as catch crumbs. If your priority is simply wiping away every spill in seconds, a non-fabric surface may be easier to maintain.

Best use cases

At 12 x 18 inches each, the mats are sized for individual place settings, not for covering a whole dining table. Picture setting out four for a family meal: each diner gets a defined area for a plate, cup, and silverware, while the dark blue adds a coordinated touch. The set also suits coffee or tea with friends, birthday meals, and seasonal gatherings where you want a consistent table color without adding a full tablecloth.

Four mats make most sense when you need a small group of matching settings. For a larger table or more guests, this set may not cover every place, check how many settings you need before choosing it. From the way it is set up, its main strength is combining everyday use with a decorative role, rather than serving as heavy-duty protection for every kind of cookware or spill.

Tips for day-to-day use

The care directions say to machine wash the placemats and lay them flat to dry. They also suggest removing them before they are completely dry to help minimize wrinkles. That’s worth factoring in if you prefer table linens that can go straight from the wash back to the table without any attention.

For routine meals, place each mat under the plate and cutlery, then clear and wash it when needed. The dark blue color can also anchor a holiday table, keep other table decor simple if you want the mats to stand out. Although the listing describes them as suitable for indoor and outdoor parties, it doesn’t provide a specific weather-care method, so bring them inside after an outdoor meal rather than assuming they are meant to stay outside.

Questions before you buy

What is included? The package contains four dark blue placemats.

How large is each mat? Each measures 12 x 18 inches.

How should they be cleaned? The care instructions call for machine washing and flat drying, with removal before fully dry to help reduce wrinkles.

Should you buy it?

It makes sense if you want four matching linen placemats that do double duty as everyday table protection and a navy accent for meals or gatherings. Their individual-place-setting size is useful for a small table setup, and the machine-wash instructions offer a clear care routine.

You may want to skip it if you need full-table coverage, a surface you can simply wipe clean, or a stated heat limit for setting down hot cookware. The listing doesn’t provide a heat rating, so that missing detail matters if protection from very hot pans is your main reason for buying. For a decorative fabric setting with basic spill and scratch coverage, the size and use are straightforward, for more demanding protection, consider a purpose-built trivet or a larger table covering instead.
