Homing Round Placemats, 15-Inch

Key specifications

For everyday meals or a dressed-up holiday table, these round mats add a defined place setting while helping shield the surface beneath it. The homing placemats are listed as 15 inches in diameter and made from polyester with a faux cotton-linen texture.

Their reversible design gives you another side to use, and the dark gray color is intended to work with a range of table settings. The listing also describes them as wipeable and heat resistant.

The fabric is described as protective against everyday scratches and heat marks, but no temperature rating is provided on the spec sheet. Treat that claim as surface protection, not as a substitute for a trivet under very hot cookware.

Who it’s for

These mats make sense for someone who wants a larger round setting for plates, bowls, and cups, with a fabric look rather than a plain, hard surface. A 15-inch diameter can help give tableware more room, though it may take up more table space than smaller placemats. It suits you if you want a reusable option for daily dining that can also dress up a gathering or seasonal table.

For example, set one beneath a dinner plate and cup, then wipe away crumbs after the meal. That is a practical fit for routine use, if you prefer a compact mat that leaves more exposed tabletop between place settings, a smaller format may work better. The reversible construction offers flexibility, but the product details do not specify a different color or pattern on the reverse.

The material is polyester, not cotton or linen, despite the texture description. It might not be a great match if you specifically want a natural-fiber placemat or need a stated maximum temperature for placing hot pans directly on the table. Compared with basic, thin mats, these are presented as thicker and more protective, for demanding heat protection, a mat with a clear heat limit would be a more informed choice.

Included in the package

The product name says “Set of 12,” while the description says the set comes with 6 placemats. Because those details conflict, the quantity cannot be confirmed from the information provided. Check the package count in the listing before choosing this set, especially if you need matching places for a particular number of diners.

The description names dark gray and mentions other color options, but it does not provide details about what is included beyond the placemats. It also notes that screen settings and lighting can affect how the color appears, so the shade may not look identical in every room.

Practical doubts

Can these placemats be washed? The care instructions allow cold hand washing or a gentle machine cycle. Do not bleach, tumble dry on low or air dry, and use a low iron setting if needed.

Are they reversible? Yes, the product name describes them as reversible. No details are given about whether both sides have the same appearance.

Can they go outside? The name presents them for indoor and outdoor use. The provided information does not specify weather resistance, so they are better treated as table mats for outdoor dining than as items to leave outdoors between uses.

Final verdict

These homing placemats are worth considering if you want round, 15-inch polyester mats with a faux linen look, reversible construction, and care instructions that allow gentle washing. Their main practical drawback is the unclear set quantity, alongside the lack of a specific heat limit. Choose them for everyday place settings and occasional gatherings if those details suit your needs, look elsewhere if you require natural fibers, a confirmed number of mats, or documented protection for high-temperature cookware.
