Moonkie Silicone Placemats 2-Pack

Technical details

Toddler meals can turn a small spill into a table cleanup, especially when food gets pushed toward the edge of a plate. The Moonkie silicone placemats add a reusable surface with a raised rim to help contain some of that mess before it spreads.

Each mat measures 15.7 by 11.7 inches and is made from food-grade silicone. The listing says the material is free of BPA, PVC, BPS, lead, and phthalates. The mats are flexible, designed to roll up for travel, and sold as a two-pack. That gives you another mat to use while one is being cleaned, or a second spot at the table.

The raised edge is a useful barrier, not a promise that every spill or crumb will stay on the mat. Its footprint also covers only part of a table, so it is aimed at giving a child a defined eating area rather than protecting the entire surface. It suits you if you want a wipeable spot for everyday meals without switching to disposable liners.

Getting the most from it

These mats do not need a complicated setup: place one on the eating surface and set the child’s food or dishes on top. After a meal, the listing says you can wipe it with a wet rag or napkin, or put it in the dishwasher. Reusability may be handy for families who would otherwise clean the table after each meal or use disposable coverings.

For a restaurant visit, the soft material can be rolled up to fit in a bag, making it easier to bring a familiar eating surface along. A quick example: after lunch, wipe off visible food, roll the mat, and pack it away rather than carrying a rigid tray. On the spec sheet, this portability is a clear advantage over a hard, bulky placemat, though the listed dimensions still mean it takes up some bag space.

Usage tips

Let the mat lie flat on the table before placing food on it, and keep dishes within its edges if you want the rim to help contain spills. For a messy meal, treat it as one layer of protection, not a substitute for wiping the surrounding table. The stated size is worth comparing with the child’s usual place setting, since larger dishes or a wide eating area may extend beyond it.

Follow the cleaning options provided for the product: wipe it with a damp cloth or napkin, or use a dishwasher. Rolling it for travel makes it convenient to carry, but the listing does not give a packed size or weight, so there is no way to judge exactly how much room it will take in a small bag. Families looking for a rigid surface or full-table coverage may prefer a different style.

Questions before you buy

How large is each placemat? Each one measures 15.7 by 11.7 inches. Compare those dimensions with the child’s dishes and the space available at your table.

Can the mats be reused? Yes. They are described as reusable silicone mats, with wiping and dishwasher cleaning listed as care options.

Will the raised edge contain every spill? It is designed to help contain messes, but the listing does not claim that it prevents all spills. Food can still land beyond the mat’s edges.

Final verdict

This two-pack makes sense for parents who want a flexible, reusable surface for toddler meals at home or while traveling. The wipe-clean and dishwasher-safe care options are practical, and rolling the mats makes them less cumbersome than carrying a rigid placemat. The tradeoff is coverage: the stated dimensions protect a defined eating spot, not the whole table, and the raised edge should be treated as help with messes rather than a spillproof barrier. Choose it for portable, everyday meal cleanup, skip it if you need a larger surface or a guaranteed catch-all.
