Modera MOD-2626 Dual-Sided Crib Mattress, Organic Cotton Cover and Cooling Gel Foam

Usage tips

For families looking for a crib mattress with distinct surfaces for infancy and toddlerhood, the Modera MOD-2626 has a firm infant side and a memory foam side for toddlers. Its standard crib size is 52 x 27.5 x 5.5 inches, making it a practical choice for a nursery setup where one mattress can serve through two stages. Place the mattress on a compatible flat surface, changing table, or travel pad as appropriate for the setup, and use the infant side for the firm, flat sleep surface described by the manufacturer.

Flip the mattress as your child moves into the toddler stage to use the gel-infused memory foam surface. The removable organic cotton cover is designed to be waterproof and machine washable, follow its care instructions when cleaning.

What stands out

The two-sided design gives each stage a different feel: high-density foam provides the infant side’s firm, flat surface, while the toddler side uses moldable memory foam with cooling gel. That makes the mattress especially useful for parents who want stage-specific support rather than a single surface intended to feel the same throughout use. The gel-infused foam is described as breathable and designed to help diffuse heat, while the organic cotton cover adds a soft exterior layer.

The cover’s zip-off design makes it possible to remove it for washing, and its waterproof exterior helps shield the mattress from spills and nighttime accidents. The mattress materials and cover are identified as CertiPUR-US certified, and the product information also lists Oeko-Tex. These details, together with the reversible construction, make the mattress a considered alternative to a single-stage crib mattress when a family wants both infant and toddler surfaces in one product.

Buyers commonly praise the comfort and appreciate having different firmness levels for the two stages. Feedback on cleaning and durability is mixed: some find the cover easy to care for, while others report issues with fraying or the zipper. That range of experiences is useful context when weighing the reversible design and removable cover.
