Meelna YY Cat Deterrent Spray, Plant-Based Anti-Scratch Training Aid, 150 mL

Cat owners looking to discourage scratching, marking, or chewing in unwanted areas can use Meelna YY Cat Deterrent Spray as part of a positive training routine. Its plant-derived botanical formula uses citrus extracts, lemongrass oil, and peppermint oil to help create areas cats tend to avoid.

Choose it for targeted spots indoors or outdoors, from a sofa or curtain to a garden bed or patio furniture.

Technical overview

The spray combines a citrus and herbal scent with a bitter taste to help discourage unwanted habits. The scent can help establish no-go areas, while the bitter taste is intended to discourage chewing and gnawing on household items. This gives cat owners two approaches in one surface treatment rather than relying only on physical barriers or redirecting a cat after a behavior starts.

Each bottle contains 150 mL (5.07 fl oz), a practical format for treating selected areas such as a couch, bed, carpet, or flower pot. The formula is plant-derived, and the fresh citrus scent is described as pleasant for people when used as directed. Shake the bottle and spray the surface, no mixing or setup is needed.

Everyday use

Use the spray to help discourage scratching on furniture, curtains, and carpets, or unwanted lounging and marking around indoor and outdoor spaces. It can also be applied to areas such as patio furniture, garden beds, flower pots, and fences. In a home with multiple cats, treating specific trouble spots can help establish clearer boundaries without turning every room into a restricted area.

For example, a household protecting a sofa can apply the spray to that surface while offering a scratching post as an appropriate alternative. Someone focused on outdoor areas can use it around garden beds or pots. It makes sense if the priority is targeted surface training, a physical cover or barrier serves a different purpose by blocking access rather than using scent and taste cues.

Tips for day-to-day use

Shake well and spray the intended surface. Test a small, hidden area first to help avoid surface damage. Do not spray directly on pets, food, or water bowls. The spray is designed to complement positive training: pair it with a scratching post, clear commands, and rewards to reinforce the habits you want.

The scent barrier can last for hours depending on the surface and ventilation. During early training, reapply daily or when the scent fades. This helps keep the treated area consistent as your cat learns where to scratch and spend time. The spray is suitable for kittens, adult cats, and senior cats, making it usable across different life stages.
