The polypropylene filter measures 2.36"D x 6.22"W x 2.36"H. Its built-in chip helps compatible refrigerators recognize the replacement filter, while the carbon block is designed to reduce chlorine, rust, and sediment. It’s made for GE refrigerator models that use XWFE or XWF replacement filters. Choose a refrigerator-mounted filter if you want water and ice from your compatible appliance, a separate pitcher is a different approach for keeping filtered water outside the fridge.

This Maxblue replacement is identified as model MB-F48C and is designed for use in GE French door, side-by-side, and top- or bottom-freezer series listed below. The package includes one replacement water filter and a user’s manual, making it a straightforward choice when it’s time to replace the filter in a compatible refrigerator.

Who it’s for

This filter is for owners of compatible GE refrigerators looking for a replacement for GE XWFE or XWF. Listed French door models include GNE27, GNE25, GNE21, GFE28, GFE26, GFE24, GWE19, and GYE18. The built-in chip is intended to support refrigerator recognition, and the filter is also described as compatible with GE’s XWFE and XWF filter types.

Everyday use

The carbon-block design uses coconut-shell carbon and targets chlorine, rust, and sediment, along with tastes and odors that can affect drinking water and ice. The stated NSF/ANSI 42 and 372 certification provides an additional selection point for shoppers seeking a replacement with documented standards. For everyday use, that means one filter serves the refrigerator’s water and ice system rather than requiring a separate countertop filtration setup.

A typical use is replacing the filter in a compatible refrigerator so the household can continue drawing water and making ice through the appliance. The supplied manual supports the replacement process. Buyers’ feedback highlights fit and everyday functionality, with some describing the filter as a suitable replacement for their GE XWFE refrigerator. These are customer impressions rather than a substitute for checking your refrigerator model and the stated filtration claims.
