KUCHEY Magnetic Pick-up Tool: Telescoping LED Flashlight with Flexible Neck

At a glance

With a telescoping reach from 6.8 to 22.6 inches, the KUCHEY Magnetic Pick-up Tool helps illuminate tight spaces and retrieve small metal parts that are difficult to reach by hand. Its three LED lights brighten dark areas, while the magnetic pickup head is designed for items such as nuts, bolts, screws, and nails.

A 360-degree flexible neck lets you adjust the light’s angle and position as you work. Use it to look behind an appliance, reach into an automobile area, or find a dropped fastener near a workbench.

Getting the most from it

The extendable neck brings the light and magnetic head closer to the work area, and the flexible section lets you direct illumination where it is useful. That combination is practical for repairs where one hand needs to guide a part or tool and the other needs a clearer view. The magnetic head is intended for metal objects, making it useful for retrieving small hardware from narrow gaps rather than picking up general debris.

The flashlight is battery-powered, and four batteries are provided in a compact compartment. The manufacturer describes a rotating battery access design for replacement. Buyer feedback often highlights the brightness, compact size, and usefulness for automotive tasks. Opinions are mixed about magnetic strength and durability, and some buyers say the batteries do not last long.

Practical tips

Extend the neck to bring the pickup head into a hard-to-reach spot, then adjust the flexible section to aim the light at the same area. For a dropped screw or bolt behind a cabinet or under a workbench, the magnetic head can help retrieve the metal piece while the LEDs make the search area easier to see. In a vehicle, it can serve as a compact inspection light and pickup tool for small metal parts.

For best use, match the magnetic head to metal hardware such as nails, nuts, bolts, and screws. Position the light before reaching into a gap so the illuminated area and the pickup point are both easy to direct. This design combines two functions in one handheld tool, shoppers who only need general illumination may prefer a standard flashlight, while this one is suited to jobs that also call for retrieving metal parts.

When it makes sense
