Kolpop Solar Post Cap Lights 4-Pack

Technical details

For a fence, deck, or patio that needs a little light without adding wiring, these solar post cap lights offer a straightforward way to illuminate the tops of compatible posts. The set includes four lights, each with 16 LEDs.

You can choose warm white, cool white, or natural daylight, then select either 100% or 50% brightness. That gives you some control over the look and power use: a softer setting may suit a relaxed evening, while full brightness is the choice when you want more light from the fixture. The listing doesn’t provide a lumen output or a specific runtime, so it’s hard to judge how bright they’ll feel or how long they’ll stay lit in your particular setup.

The lights use solar power and have an IP65 waterproof rating. There’s no wiring to run, but their performance still depends on the conditions where the solar panels receive light. A solid pick if you want adjustable accent lighting and a simple installation rather than a wired lighting project.

Compatibility

Included adapters are intended to fit 3.5-inch, 4-inch, 4.5-inch, and 5-inch wood or vinyl posts. The base is nailed onto the post, then the light is screwed into place. The adapter insert needs to be removed or adjusted to match the post size, so take a moment to check the fit before fastening the base.

This range makes the set more flexible than a cap light designed for just one post size. Still, the listed sizes are the useful boundary: if your post dimensions fall outside them, the product information doesn’t establish that it will fit. It’s also a different approach from wired post lighting, you avoid running electrical connections, but you don’t get a stated guarantee of consistent brightness or runtime.

Usage tips

Choose the color setting before installation, then use the brightness switch to suit the space. For example, a row of fence posts beside a patio could use warm white at the lower setting for a gentler evening glow. If you want a brighter effect, use the full setting, keeping in mind that the listing says the lower level is intended to extend solar runtime.

Position the panels where they can receive daylight, and use the post-size adapter that fits snugly. The IP65 rating is intended for outdoor exposure, including rain and humidity, but the product details don’t specify how many hours of light to expect after a cloudy day. You may want to skip it if you need predictable, high-output lighting for visibility or security rather than decorative post lighting.

Practical doubts

How many lights are included? The product is sold as a four-pack.

Can you change the light color? Yes. The switch offers warm white, cool white, and natural daylight.

Does installation require wiring? No wiring is required. The stated installation uses a nail to attach the base and screws to secure the light.

Final verdict

These Kolpop lights make the most sense for wood or vinyl fence and deck posts within the listed size range, where solar-powered accent lighting is the goal. The color and brightness choices are useful touches, and the adapter range may save you from buying a fixture limited to one post size. The tradeoff is that no lumen figure or defined runtime is provided, so shoppers who need dependable illumination should look for clearer performance specifications or consider a wired setup. For decorative lighting around a patio or garden, the four-pack’s adjustable settings offer practical flexibility without adding wiring.
