Kodak compact digital camera 16MP
Product description
How to use it
When a phone camera feels like the wrong tool for a family gathering or a trip, the Kodak PIXPRO FZ45 offers a straightforward point-and-shoot alternative. Its 16MP CMOS sensor, 27mm wide-angle lens, and 4X optical zoom cover everyday scenes, while 1080p video lets you capture moving moments as well as still photos.
The camera runs on 2 AA alkaline batteries and has a 2.7-inch LCD for framing shots and reviewing what you captured. That makes it a simple setup to pack for a day out, though the 4X zoom has a defined reach rather than the flexibility of a camera with a longer zoom range.
For a family photo indoors, the wide-angle lens can help fit more people into the frame, outside, optical zoom gives you some room to tighten the composition without relying only on digital cropping. Want a camera that stays uncomplicated for casual travel clips, too? The FZ45 records Full HD 1080p video and is described as suitable for simple vlogging, but its listed zoom range and LCD size point to a basic, compact experience rather than a more advanced shooting setup. Memory cards are not included in the supplied details, so plan on using a compatible Class 10 SD, SDHC, or SDXC card if you need removable storage.
You’ll appreciate it if you want a dedicated camera for everyday family pictures and travel snapshots, with familiar AA batteries and a point-and-shoot approach. Better avoided if your priority is a longer optical zoom or a larger screen, neither is listed among this model’s features. From the way it is set up, the appeal is convenience and simple framing, not extensive control or a long list of advanced features.
Pros
- 16MP CMOS sensor for everyday still photography.
- 27mm wide-angle lens and 4X optical zoom for varied framing.
- 1080p Full HD video for travel clips, family moments, or simple vlogging.
- Uses 2 AA alkaline batteries, which are a familiar format for many households.
- Supports Class 10 SD, SDHC, and SDXC cards up to 512GB.
A practical plus is that it combines still photos and video in one compact point-and-shoot camera. The tradeoff is that the listed 4X optical zoom may not provide enough reach for distant subjects, so it is better suited to nearby people, everyday scenes, and casual outings than to photography that depends on pulling faraway details closer.

Is it worth it?
The FZ45 makes sense if you want a dedicated camera for casual photos and video without stepping into a more demanding camera setup. It brings a useful wide-angle view, some optical zoom, and Full HD recording together in a point-and-shoot format. That gives it a clear role for trips, family get-togethers, and quick clips when a simple camera is preferable to a more involved kit.
Its limits matter, too. The available details list a 4X optical zoom and a 2.7-inch LCD, not a longer-reaching lens or a larger display. If those are central to how you shoot, a camera built around greater reach or a more expansive viewing screen would be a better fit. Choose the Kodak for straightforward snapshots and familiar AA power, skip it if your plans call for more zoom than 4X.
