Kenmore 2682272 8.0 cu. ft. Front-Load Electric Dryer with Accela Steam

With 8.0 cu. ft. of capacity, the Kenmore 2682272 front-load electric dryer gives clothes and household fabrics room to move. Need to refresh bedding or reduce wrinkles between washes? Accela Steam and a dedicated Steam Refresh cycle help address wrinkles, static, and odors. Smart sensor drying adjusts to moisture levels, while a choice of cycles and options supports different laundry needs.

Key takeaways

Accela Steam refreshes clothes and bedding, and the Steam Refresh cycle is designed to reduce wrinkles, static, and odors in 15 minutes based on a 3-lb load. Wrinkle Guard helps keep items looking smooth after drying. Together, these features suit laundry that needs a refresh as well as loads coming straight from the washer.

The dryer offers 12 drying cycles and 8 options, giving you ways to tailor care to different clothing and household fabrics. Smart sensors detect moisture to help prevent over-drying. For items such as decorative pillows, sleeping bags, and plush toys, the listed specialty cycles provide additional drying choices beyond everyday clothing. Energy Saver is designed to reduce energy use by up to 8.2%, and the dryer is ENERGY STAR certified.

How it fits

The front-load design has a reversible door, so you can choose the door orientation that better suits your laundry-room layout. It measures 33.67 inches deep by 27 inches wide by 39.75 inches high, useful measurements to compare with the space where you plan to place it. The dryer is also listed as stackable, which can help make use of vertical space in a laundry setup.

LED light-touch controls display cycle status and time remaining. That makes it easier to select a cycle, check progress, and plan around laundry without repeatedly opening the door. The white finish keeps the look simple alongside other laundry appliances.

Best use cases

The roomy capacity is suited to household laundry that includes bedding and other bulky fabrics, as well as regular clothing loads. A practical routine might be to dry a mixed household load with a sensor-based cycle, then use Steam Refresh for an item that needs help with wrinkles or lingering odors. For families managing a range of fabrics, the 12 cycles and 8 options offer more ways to match the drying program to the load than a dryer focused on only basic cycles.

Buyers often praise the dryer’s performance, capacity, and quiet operation. Some also describe using it for large items such as king-size mattress covers. Feedback on durability is mixed, with some buyers reporting problems with the door mechanism, that concern is worth considering alongside the capacity and feature set when comparing dryers.

When it makes sense

This Kenmore is a strong fit for households looking for a large-capacity electric dryer with fabric-care choices beyond standard drying. Sensor drying, Accela Steam, Wrinkle Guard, and the Steam Refresh cycle give it practical versatility for everyday laundry, bedding, and items that benefit from a refresh. Its reversible door and stackable design also make it easier to plan around the available laundry-room layout.
