JKGIFTS 012-1361 Kids Star Projector Night Light, 360° Rotation, 16 Colors

For a child’s bedroom that calls for a night light with a little more visual interest, the JKGIFTS star projector offers two lighting modes in one compact lamp. A steady night light suits a simple bedtime glow, while the starry-sky mode adds color and movement to the ceiling and walls. Its black, 5-inch plastic design also works as an indoor room decoration.

Quick overview

Choose between a night-light mode and a starry-sky projection mode. The projector features four LED light sources, 16 color options, and 360-degree rotation, so the room can have a still glow or a changing star effect. The manufacturer describes projection up to 15 ft and coverage across 250 square feet, giving families a way to create a broader ceiling-and-wall display than a basic fixed night light.

The controls are arranged around three buttons: C switches the power on or off, A controls the white light or rotation, and B selects color combinations. A dome cover can be used for the night-light mode, opening the cover reveals the star-themed projection. That makes it easy to choose between a simpler lamp-like setting and the more decorative projection without changing products. The 5-inch square footprint is suited to a bedside table or another stable spot in a child’s room.

Usage tips

The lamp can be powered using its USB cable or batteries, and the cable is included. Batteries are not included, and USB power and batteries should not be used at the same time. It is intended for indoor use. For the star effect, open the cover and aim the projector toward the ceiling or walls, use the dome cover when you want the night-light mode instead. The color controls let you select a combination that suits the room’s mood, while the rotation function adds movement to the projection.

Customer feedback often highlights the appearance and the colorful ceiling and wall effects as appealing features. Opinions are more mixed on brightness, rotation, and durability, so the main reason to choose this model is its two-mode star projection and color-changing display rather than a plain, fixed-color night light.

Best use cases

This projector fits a child’s bedroom where a decorative star pattern is part of the bedtime setup, or where the same lamp should also serve as a simpler night light. It can also add a themed lighting effect to indoor birthday celebrations and other gatherings, as described by the manufacturer. For a room that needs only a steady point of light, a conventional night light may be the more direct choice, for a ceiling display with changing colors and rotation, this projector offers more visual variety in a single 5-inch lamp.

The product is made of plastic and weighs 12.8 ounces. Its small square shape keeps the setup compact, while the USB connection offers a cable-powered option alongside battery operation. The projection mode and covered night-light mode make it useful when the desired lighting changes from a decorative effect to a gentler room light.

Buying verdict

Choose the JKGIFTS 012-1361 when the goal is a children’s room light that combines a star-themed projection, 16 color choices, and a separate night-light mode. Its rotating display makes it more suited to families looking for an atmospheric ceiling-and-wall effect than shoppers seeking only a basic stationary lamp. The included USB cable gives it a cable-powered setup, and battery operation provides another way to use the light when appropriate.
