Insta360 Flow 2 Pro Phone Gimbal

When you want to film yourself walking, capture a moving performance, or keep a group in frame without asking someone to hold the phone, a tracking gimbal can make the setup easier. The Insta360 Flow 2 Pro combines three-axis stabilization with tracking features and a built-in tripod and selfie stick. It also includes an AI Tracker, and its Apple DockKit support is designed to work with more than 200 compatible iOS apps. That mix is aimed at people who want one portable tool for clips, calls, and streams rather than a basic phone grip.

How to use it

Mount your phone, unfold the gimbal, and use its tracking to keep a subject framed while you move. For a solo video, that could mean setting the built-in tripod on a table, starting a recording, and stepping back to demonstrate something without holding the phone. The selfie stick gives you another way to frame yourself or a group, while the selfie mirror can help with rear-camera framing. A built-in teleprompter is also listed for creators who want to follow prepared lines.

The 360-degree pan tracking is intended to keep following movement without the usual limited pan range. Multi-person tracking adds a group-focused option for gatherings or meetups. If you switch between iPhone apps, DockKit support is the notable draw, the AI Tracker is described as compatible with all platforms and devices. Which matters more: hands-free tracking across your usual apps, or a lighter setup with fewer features? This model leans toward the former.

Pros

• Three-axis stabilization is intended to smooth phone footage as you move.
• The built-in tripod, selfie stick, selfie mirror, and teleprompter reduce the need to pack separate accessories.
• AI tracking, multi-person framing, and continuous 360-degree pan tracking cover solo clips as well as group scenes.
• A built-in spotlight is included for low-light situations, though it should be treated as an aid rather than a guarantee of polished footage.
• The listed battery life is 10 hours, which may suit extended filming sessions without claiming every use will reach that runtime.

You’ll appreciate it if you regularly record yourself, make live streams, or want a phone setup that can follow movement hands-free. Compared with a simple phone grip, it offers more ways to track and position a shot, compared with a more demanding camera rig, it keeps the workflow centered on a phone.

Active Zoom Tracking is specified for Pro and Pro Max models of iPhone 12–16, with tracking stated up to 15x zoom. That restriction is worth factoring in if zoom tracking is a key reason for buying, the product description does not extend that feature to every phone. Without having tried it, the clearest practical distinction is that the feature set is broad, but some of its appeal depends on your phone and app setup.

When it makes sense

It’s not for you if you only need a simple stabilizer for occasional stationary clips, or if your phone is outside the stated compatibility for Active Zoom Tracking and that feature is essential. The extra tracking tools make more sense for solo creators who move through a shot, people filming family groups, and anyone who wants to use a phone for meetings or streams as well as video. Before choosing, weigh those uses against a simpler grip: the Flow 2 Pro’s value is in combining tracking and positioning tools, not merely holding a phone steady.
