IMQUALI IM008R Drywall Sander, 8-Amp, Variable Speed, LED Light

Sanding a ceiling or high wall is easier to approach with a tool that can extend overhead and collect dust as you work. The IMQUALI IM008R is an electric drywall sander with a telescoping handle, built-in vacuum system, and LED lighting for surface work in dimmer areas.

Choose from seven speed settings, ranging from 800 to 1,800 RPM, to suit different sanding tasks. Its 8-amp copper motor powers work on drywall, ceilings, and floors.

For focused sanding in a small area, a compact hand sander may be all you need. For longer wall and ceiling surfaces, the extendable handle and dust-collection setup make this model a practical fit.

Where it shines

The extension rod adjusts from 3.9 to 5.5 feet, giving you reach for ceiling and upper-wall work without relying only on a short handheld tool. The sander folds for carrying and storage, and its detachable chassis helps it reach corners and other tight areas. A 360-degree LED light strip illuminates the work surface, which is useful when sanding in a dim corner or along a ceiling edge.

Dust collection is built into the sander, with a 10-hole sanding-disc design and a flexible hose connected to a collection bag. Keep the sanding disc parallel to the wall or ceiling during use to help prevent dust from escaping around the disc. That setup is especially handy when preparing drywall surfaces where controlling sanding dust and cleanup matters.

Quick overview

The IM008R combines seven variable speeds from 800 to 1,800 RPM with an 8-amp motor. Its extendable handle adjusts from 3.9 to 5.5 feet, while the integrated LED strip helps light the work area. The sanding discs use 80, 100, 120, 150, 180, and 240 grit, with two discs of each grit included. This range supports different stages of surface preparation, from coarser sanding to finer finishing.

The package also includes an extension rod, flexible dust-collection hose, collection bag, carry bag, manual, work gloves, hex wrench, screwdriver, dual hook tension spring, carbon brushes, gaskets, and dust rings. A 12-month warranty is included.

Everyday use

For a ceiling project, extend the handle to a comfortable working height, choose a speed for the sanding task, and keep the disc flat against the surface as you move across it. The LED lighting can help with visibility near edges and in less-bright areas, while the detachable chassis provides access to corners. For a floor or wall project, the same adjustable speed settings let you tailor the sanding pace to the surface-preparation job.

The included assortment of grits gives you options as the work moves from initial sanding toward a smoother finish. The carry bag and folding design also make the tool easier to pack away between jobs.

Buying verdict

The IMQUALI IM008R is suited to DIYers and home renovators handling drywall, ceiling, or floor sanding who want extended reach, adjustable speed, and integrated dust collection in one tool. Its lighting and detachable chassis add practical help around dim areas and corners, while the included grit selection supports multiple stages of surface preparation.
