Hongkee 6x6 Picture Frame with Glass (Black) — Wood Frame for 6x6 Photos or 4x4 with Mat, Wall & Tabletop, 1 Pack
Product description
If you want a photo frame that looks more “real wood” than “plastic craft,” this Hongkee 6x6 picture frame is built for that exact feel. It comes with a glass cover for a clearer display and uses a sturdy wood frame plus MDF mounting board, so it should hold up better than flimsy options over time.
That said, it’s still a single-pack frame with a specific photo-size setup, so it’s not a catch-all if your photos are a different dimension. On the paper, the big win is flexibility: one frame set, two display sizes depending on whether you use the mat.
The essentials
This is a 6x6 inch picture frame with a real glass front and a wood frame. It’s designed to show family photos, art prints, or keepsakes with a clean, clear view. Depending on your photo size, it supports either 6x6 photos without the mat or 4x4 photos with the mat.
You can use it both as wall decor and as a tabletop display. The mounting setup is also practical: the back uses flexible swivel tabs and a spring-style action to remove the backing, with a design intended to keep you from hurting your fingers while swapping photos.
What stands out in everyday use
The display is straightforward: open the back, place your photo (and mat if you want the 4x4 look), then close it again. The swivel tabs and spring action are the kind of small usability details that matter if you plan to rotate pictures, update seasonal photos, or swap art without wrestling the frame.
There’s also protection baked into the experience. The frame includes paper corner protection to help prevent wear and tear, and the packaging uses a bubble bag plus a thickened carton. That combo is aimed at reducing the chances of arriving damaged, which is a real concern with glass-front frames.
Key takeaways for choosing the right size
This frame is sized for a 6 by 6 photo format, with the option to display a 4 by 4 photo when using the included mat. That makes it a solid choice if you have:
- 6x6 photos you want to show cleanly without cropping
- 4x4 photos you’d like to display with a mat for a more “finished” look
It may not suit you as well if your photos are common sizes that don’t match the two scenarios above. If you’re expecting it to handle other dimensions, you may end up needing a different frame.

Where it shines (and where it might not)
A frame like this makes sense when you want the visual upgrade of real glass and a solid wood look, but you still want an easy way to update the image. If you’re building a family photo display, showing prints in a gallery-style arrangement, or gifting a keepsake to someone who will actually swap pictures, it’s the kind of practical purchase that gets used.
It may be less ideal if you’re shopping purely for a “universal” frame system. Because it’s built around 6x6 and 4x4-with-mat, you’ll want to be confident your photos fit those sizes. Also, if you’re expecting museum-grade framing depth or advanced hardware details beyond what’s described, you may find it sits more in the straightforward, mid-range convenience category.
Is it worth it?
Buy it if you have (or plan to print) 6x6 photos, or if you want the option to display 4x4 photos using the mat, and you care about seeing your images through real glass with a sturdy wood build. The swivel-tab, spring-style backing is a nice touch if you expect to change photos regularly.
Skip it if your photos don’t match the 6x6 / 4x4-with-mat setup, or if you want a more flexible frame size system. For shoppers who are tired of cheap plastic frames that don’t look right once the photo is inside, this is a dependable direction.
