Homemory HPILLAR Outdoor Flameless Candles, 12-Inch LED Pillars with Remote

For outdoor decor, some shoppers want a candlelike glow without an open flame, others prioritize dependable performance through changing weather. Homemory’s HPILLAR set includes two battery-powered LED pillars with a remote and timer. Would those controls make lantern or porch lighting easier to manage? The advertised outdoor protection is worth weighing alongside mixed buyer reports about water resistance and reliability.

Size & fit

Each candle is listed as 5 inches wide by 5 inches deep and 12 inches high, with an ivory plastic shade and base. That tall, round profile is intended for lanterns and tabletop placement, and the product description says the candles fit most indoor or outdoor lanterns. Measure the lantern’s interior before choosing: both the height and the 5-inch footprint need room to fit. They can also be placed on a porch or patio table as standalone decorative lighting.

Why it makes sense

The appeal here is convenient, adjustable ambiance rather than the upkeep of a flame. The LEDs produce a warm yellow glow with flicker and steady-light modes, and the remote also offers brightness adjustment. Timer choices are 2, 4, 6, or 8 hours, the candles are described as turning on again at the same time each day. That makes the set suited to a recurring evening display, such as lighting lanterns near an entryway without manually switching each candle on and off.

Compared with a more basic flameless candle that uses only a manual switch, the remote and timer add control over the light and schedule. You’ll appreciate it if those features matter for a decorative setup you use regularly. Each candle needs 3 AA batteries, which are not included, so battery purchase and replacement are part of ownership. Although the listing describes the set as IPX5 and suitable for outdoor use, buyer feedback is mixed: some report attractive light and useful timers, while others mention water getting inside, candles failing, or remote-control problems. Those concerns are relevant if the candles will be exposed to rain regularly.

Practical questions

What batteries do the candles use? Each one requires 3 AA batteries, and none are included.

Can the remote change the light? The listed controls include flicker or steady mode, brightness adjustment, and timer settings. Buyers report mixed experiences with the remote, so its operation may not be consistent for everyone.

Can they be left outdoors? The product is marketed as IPX5 and for outdoor use, but buyer reports include concerns about water entering the candles and reliability. If dependable exposure to wet weather is essential, those reports are a reason to consider a less weather-dependent placement.

Should you buy it?

This set makes sense for someone who wants two tall, warm-glow LED candles for lanterns, a porch, or a patio, and values remote operation and a repeatable timer. It offers more control than a simple manually switched pillar, while remaining battery-powered and free of an open flame. Not the best choice if your decision depends on consistently reliable remote operation or confidence in prolonged wet-weather use: the listing’s outdoor claim is accompanied by mixed buyer feedback on both points. For a sheltered decorative spot, the combination of size, two light modes, and timer features may be the more relevant fit.
