GORILLA Removable Mounting Putty: 84 Pre-Cut Squares (Pack of 3) Holds Up to 2 lbs

The essentials

GORILLA Removable Mounting Putty is a lightweight-adhesive solution designed to hold items up to 2 lbs without damaging walls. It’s a practical alternative to tape, push pins, staples, or thumbtacks, aimed at everyday display needs in classrooms, homes, and dorms.

What it’s for

This product targets quick, mess-free mounting of posters, photos, artwork, signs, lightweight calendars, and light décor. It’s described as a back-to-school essential for teachers, students, and parents who want to display items without committing to permanent wall fasteners.

How it performs

The putty is described as neutral in color to blend with most walls, offering a no-mess removal with low residue and no solvents involved. The pack includes 84 pre-cut squares, so there’s no kneading required—ready to use straight from the pack.

Where it shines

• Multi-surface compatibility: works on paper, painted walls, wood, tile, metal, posters, plastic, and glass.
• Indoor and temporary outdoor use, giving flexible placement for seasonal displays or classroom projects.
• Easy cleanup: designed to come off cleanly when it’s time to remove.

Limitations to keep in mind

• It’s described for lightweight items up to 2 lbs, heavier objects would require a different mounting method.
• No details are provided about long-term outdoor exposure, so consider it primarily for short-term or temporary outdoor use.

Who it’s for

This product seems well-suited for teachers creating quick classroom displays, students managing dorm or study space decoration, and parents organizing family calendars or signs without wall damage.

Who it isn’t the best fit for

If you regularly hang heavier items, or you need a mounting solution with waterproof or ultra-durable attributes, this putty may not meet those needs.

When to buy

If you value a simple, residue-free removal and you want a ready-to-use solution for lightweight mounting on a variety of surfaces, this set offers convenience and flexibility for school or home projects.

Before you buy: quick checks

• Confirm the weight of items you plan to display stays within the 2 lb limit.
• Test on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure wall finish compatibility.
• Consider if you’ll need all three packs for larger or multiple displays.

Practical usage example

Create a rotating classroom display by placing lightweight posters and student artwork on painted walls. The neutral color helps items blend in without clashing with the room’s decor, and you can reposition pieces between units or seasons without leaving trace marks.

What you’ll notice day to day

A simple setup process, quick removal without messy residues, and the ability to rearrange displays as projects evolve. It’s a straightforward tool for organizing space without committing to nails or tape.
