FIXSMITH FM06270810 8x10 Picture Frame, Black Plastic with Plexiglass Front

A lightweight plastic frame with a plexiglass front gives 8x10 photos a simple black border and is easier to handle than a heavier glass-fronted frame. The FIXSMITH FM06270810 can be displayed on a wall or tabletop, in horizontal or vertical orientation, so it suits a single print or a coordinated photo display.

It is also described for 5x7 photos when used with a mat. That gives you a choice between filling the frame with a larger image or adding a border around a smaller one.

Best use cases

This frame is intended for displaying photos, artwork, and other prints in a familiar 8x10 format. A practical use would be arranging family pictures in a hallway or putting a child’s artwork on display, the black, solid-color border keeps attention on the image rather than adding a decorative pattern. Its horizontal and vertical orientations also make it easier to work around the shape of different photos or available wall space.

The product information describes both wall and tabletop display, but does not specify a separate stand. If you need a particular tabletop support or hanging hardware, confirm that it meets your setup before choosing this frame. The plexiglass cover is presented as a shatter-resistant alternative to glass, while the frame itself is plastic rather than a glass-and-wood construction.

Who it’s for

A solid pick if you want a straightforward black frame for everyday photos, classroom art, or a simple gallery wall, and prefer a lightweight plastic design. It may also suit a gift when the recipient’s image is already in an 8x10 format, or 5x7 with a mat.

Buyer feedback is mixed on durability and perceived quality. Some appreciate the appearance and use the frames for gifts or children’s projects, while others describe the construction as flimsy and report cracking plexiglass or a weak backing. Those comments are worth weighing if the frame will be handled often or needs to withstand frequent changes, they are less central for a display that will be mounted and left in place. Not the best choice if your priority is a glass-fronted frame or a more substantial frame material.

Questions before you buy

What photo size fits? The frame is listed for an 8x10 photo without a mat, or a 5x7 photo with a mat. The product details do not confirm whether a mat is included.

Can it be displayed vertically and horizontally? Yes. The listed orientation supports both, and the frame is described for wall or tabletop display.

How should the cover be cleaned? The care instructions recommend wiping it with a damp cloth and avoiding harsh chemicals.

Buying verdict

Choose the FIXSMITH FM06270810 when you want a black 8x10 frame with flexible orientation and a lightweight plastic build for photos or artwork. The plexiglass front and straightforward style make it a practical alternative to a heavier glass-fronted frame, but buyer reports about the backing and cover suggest treating durability as a consideration rather than assuming a sturdier construction. For a display that will be handled repeatedly, a frame made from more substantial materials may be a better fit.
