DEVAISE Mobile File Cabinet, 3 Drawers

Highlights

When paperwork and everyday office supplies start taking over a desk, a rolling cabinet can keep them nearby without adding another fixed piece of furniture. The DEVAISE three-drawer metal file cabinet is designed to sit under a desk or serve as a printer stand, with a lock for all drawers and casters for moving it between work spots.

It arrives assembled, you only need to attach the casters before use.

The two upper drawers include a removable pencil tray for smaller supplies, while the deeper bottom drawer is made for hanging files. Ball-bearing slides let the drawers extend fully, which makes it easier to reach files toward the back than with a drawer that only opens partway. The steel construction also gives it a more substantial feel than a lightweight organizer, though the listing does not provide an overall weight capacity.

Fit and sizing

The bottom drawer is listed as fitting A4, Letter, and Legal hanging files, which covers several common document formats. That makes the cabinet more useful for mixed paperwork than a small desktop organizer with room only for loose sheets. The upper drawers can hold items such as pens, notepads, and other office essentials, with the included tray separating smaller pieces.

On the spec sheet, file formats are specified but the cabinet’s overall dimensions are not. Measure the space under your desk and the route into your office before choosing it, especially if the available clearance is tight. It makes sense if you want documents and supplies stored together in a mobile unit, a basic open shelf may be simpler if you do not need a lock or enclosed drawers.

Tips for day-to-day use

Use the top drawers for items you reach for often and reserve the deep drawer for hanging files, rather than mixing loose supplies into the file section. For example, you could keep pens and sticky notes in the upper drawers, then roll the cabinet beside your desk when sorting a folder or pulling a document for a call. The full-extension design helps with access, while the center support caster is intended to help prevent tipping.

The single lock secures all three drawers at once, so it can help keep personal items or work papers out of casual reach in a shared workspace. Keep in mind that the casters still need to be attached after delivery. Two front wheels lock, letting you move the cabinet into position and keep it from rolling freely while in use.

Practical doubts

Does it arrive assembled? Yes. The cabinet is described as fully assembled, with caster installation left to the buyer.

Can it be moved and then kept in place? It has five casters, including two front locking wheels and a center support caster. Lock the front wheels after positioning it.

Which hanging files fit the bottom drawer? The listed formats are A4, Letter, and Legal. The product details do not give the drawer’s interior measurements.

Buying verdict

This cabinet suits a home office where files need to stay close, small supplies need a proper place, and the unit may need to move between desk and printer. Its lock, file drawer, and assembled delivery make it more purpose-built than an open cart or a simple stack of organizers. Not the best choice if you need exact dimensions or a stated load limit before buying, since neither is included in the product details. If those measurements matter for your setup, look for a cabinet with them listed, if your priority is mobile, lockable storage for common hanging-file formats, this DEVAISE model covers the essentials described here.
