California Design Den Twin Sheets 600 Thread Count

What matters most

For twin-bed shoppers who want a smooth, softly lustrous cotton feel, this California Design Den sheet set centers on a 600 thread count sateen weave.

The fabric is made from 100% long-staple cotton. Its stated feel is smooth and plush, with a balance of thickness and lightness rather than a crisp, plain-weave feel. That difference matters if you prefer sheets that feel sleek against your skin.

The set includes a flat sheet, a fitted sheet, and one standard/queen pillowcase. It also carries the Good Housekeeping Seal and an OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 label, details worth noting if independent testing and harmful-substance testing are part of your bedding checklist. Those credentials do not tell you whether you will prefer sateen’s feel, though.

Fit and sizing

The fitted sheet is listed for mattresses 8 to 15 inches deep and has elastic all the way around. Top and bottom tags are intended to make bed-making less of a guessing game. Keep in mind that the taupe color has beige undertones, so it is described as warm rather than gray or distinctly cool. That follows from the way it is set up: the shade name may not match what you expect if you are shopping for a gray-toned neutral.

The flat sheet measures 66 by 100 inches, the fitted sheet 39 by 75 inches, and the pillowcase 21 by 32 inches. The pillowcase has an open end, not an envelope closure. If you prefer a tucked-in pillow opening, that is a specific design trade-off to weigh before choosing this set.

Tips for day-to-day use

The care instructions call for machine washing in warm water and tumble drying on low. Removing the sheets promptly from the dryer is suggested to help reduce wrinkles. The description also says the sateen fabric gets softer with washing, and that the cotton is naturally breathable for year-round comfort, individual comfort can still depend on the sleeper and room.

For a practical example, the all-around elastic and top/bottom labels should make it easier to pull the fitted sheet over the mattress and orient it correctly when changing the bed. The set is also tested for pilling, fading, and shrinkage, but the available details do not specify how it performs after a particular number of washes.

A solid pick if you want a cotton twin set with a smooth sateen finish and a fitted sheet designed for a stated range of mattress depths. If you are choosing between this and a crisper-feeling sheet, let texture guide the decision: this set’s appeal is its smooth finish, not a crisp hand.

Questions before you buy

Is this a complete twin sheet set? It includes a flat sheet, a fitted sheet, and one standard/queen pillowcase.

Will the fitted sheet work with a 15-inch mattress? The listed fit range is 8 to 15 inches deep, and the fitted sheet has all-around elastic.

Does the pillowcase have an envelope closure? No. It uses a classic open-end design.

Should you buy it?

Choose this set if a smooth cotton sateen feel, a warm beige-toned taupe, and the stated mattress-depth range line up with what you need. Not the best choice if you specifically want a gray taupe or an envelope-style pillowcase. The useful decision here is less about the thread count alone and more about whether you want this particular finish and opening style in a three-piece twin set.
