Bose QuietComfort Ultra 890101-0110 2nd Gen Headphones, Spatial Audio, Cherry Chocolate

For listeners who want immersive audio and adjustable noise control in an over-ear design, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) combine spatialized sound with Quiet, Aware, and Immersion modes. Their Cherry Chocolate finish gives this limited-edition version a distinctive look, while Bluetooth and wired connections make it easy to use with a range of devices.

Cinema Mode also brings spatialized sound to video, and the built-in microphones support calls and video meetings. With up to 30 hours of play time, these headphones are built for listening across a full day of travel, work, or entertainment.

The essentials

Bose Immersive Audio places sound in front of you for a more spacious listening experience, while CustomTune adapts audio by analyzing the shape of your ears. For movies and other video, Cinema Mode spatializes and balances background sound and effects. These features make the headphones more than a noise-blocking option: they offer distinct ways to shape music, video, and everyday listening.

Choose Quiet Mode for active noise cancellation, Aware Mode to hear more of your surroundings, or Immersion Mode to combine noise cancellation with Bose Immersive Audio. Adjustable noise-cancellation levels give you another way to tailor the listening experience to your setting. How do those controls translate to daily use? They let you switch between a more focused session and greater awareness without changing headphones.

Buyer feedback often highlights sound quality, comfort, noise cancellation, and battery life. Opinions are more mixed on connectivity, fit, and reliability, some buyers report connection problems with non-Apple Bluetooth devices or say the headphones do not stay securely in place. Views on value also differ.

How it fits

The over-ear cups wrap around the ears, with plush cushions and an adjustable headband designed to distribute pressure. The refined metal headband and polished metal arms add structure to the design, while the Cherry Chocolate color sets this edition apart from standard finishes. For commuting, travel, or a desk setup, the full-size format keeps the controls and listening modes close at hand without relying on a small in-ear design.

The built-in microphones use noise-rejecting pickup and AI-based background-noise suppression to help keep your voice clear during calls. Bluetooth multipoint pairing is useful when switching between devices such as a phone and laptop. It suits you if you want over-ear comfort alongside both immersive playback and adjustable awareness of your surroundings.

How to use it

Pair the headphones over Bluetooth using the Bose app to manage paired devices, or connect with the detachable cable for wired listening. A 3.5 mm headphone jack supports wired audio, and USB-C provides a way to connect for calls and video conferencing. The included USB-C cord can also charge the headphones while you listen. For a movie, select Cinema Mode, for music, choose the audio mode that best matches how much immersion or awareness you want.

Battery life is rated for up to 30 hours of playback, or up to 23 hours with Immersive Audio. Actual play time varies with settings and use. A full charge takes 3 hours, giving you a practical routine for preparing the headphones between longer listening sessions.

Before you decide

What is the difference between Quiet, Aware, and Immersion modes? Quiet Mode uses active noise cancellation, Aware Mode lets more of your surroundings through, and Immersion Mode combines noise cancellation with Bose Immersive Audio.

Can I use the headphones for calls or video meetings? Yes. The built-in microphones support calls, and USB-C connection supports two-way communication for calls and video conferencing.

How long can I listen between charges? Up to 30 hours with standard playback, or up to 23 hours with Immersive Audio. Listening time varies with settings and use.
