Backyard Discovery Cedar Wood Gazebo 10' x 10

A shaded spot can make a patio or deck more comfortable for outdoor meals and get-togethers. The Backyard Discovery Barrington is a 10' x 10' cedar gazebo with a hardtop galvanized steel roof and a built-in PowerPort, so it combines overhead cover with places to connect devices. Its footprint suits buyers planning a defined entertaining area, though the listed dimensions alone do not establish whether it will clear a low roofline or overhanging branches. The product information also gives snow- and wind-resistance figures, but those claims should be weighed against the conditions at your specific site.

Technical details

The structure uses cedar wood, including 6" x 6" support posts, and a 29-gauge Tudor Brown galvanized steel hip roof. The manufacturer says the gazebo was tested to withstand up to 5,400 pounds or up to 30 inches of snow load, as well as winds up to 100 mph. These figures provide useful context, but they are not a substitute for assessing your installation location and local weather exposure. A five-year warranty is listed.

The PowerPort has three electrical outlets and three USB ports and can be mounted to a post. A power source is not included, so the ports do not make the pavilion self-powered. For a backyard dining setup, that could mean having a place to plug in devices or other compatible equipment when a suitable power source is available, it does not tell you how that source will reach the structure.

Requirements

Plan for a separate power source if you want to use the PowerPort. The product details do not specify the source, cable routing, or electrical installation, so those parts need to be addressed for your particular setup rather than assumed to come with the gazebo.

The pieces arrive pre-cut, pre-drilled, and pre-stained, with step-by-step instructions available through the BILT app. That gives buyers a guided assembly format, but it is still a ready-to-assemble structure, not a finished pavilion delivered in one piece. Since no overall height is listed here, buyers working around low eaves or tree limbs should account for that missing clearance information, without that measurement, the 10' x 10' footprint cannot confirm overhead fit.

Usage tips

Think of the Barrington as a permanent-feeling outdoor gathering zone rather than a lightweight shade you move around as the sun shifts. Before assembly, choose a spot that leaves room for the full footprint and for access around the posts. If you plan to use the PowerPort during a meal outside, map out the power-source arrangement first, then position seating and serving space so the post-mounted ports remain reachable.

Compared with a simpler open-sided shade structure, this model adds a hard steel roof and integrated charging access. That can be useful for a patio where people spend time eating, talking, or using devices. The tradeoff is a more involved assembly and a fixed installation plan, it is not the practical match for someone who wants portable shade or has not settled on a location.

Before you decide

Is the power source included? No. The PowerPort has three outlets and three USB ports, but the power source is not included.

What materials make up the roof and frame? The frame is cedar wood, with 6" x 6" posts, the roof is 29-gauge galvanized steel in Tudor Brown.

What assembly support is provided? The pieces are pre-cut, pre-drilled, and pre-stained, and step-by-step instructions are available in the interactive BILT app.

Should you buy it?

A solid pick if you want a 10' x 10' cedar pavilion with a hardtop roof and built-in ports for a planned outdoor entertaining area. Not the best choice if you need portable cover, expect a power source to be included, or need confirmed overhead clearance that the available dimensions do not provide. The listed snow and wind figures may matter to your decision, but the location and setup still deserve consideration before committing to a permanent shade structure.
