Babyletto M4626W Spruce Tree Bookcase, White, GREENGUARD Gold Certified

For a child’s room that needs book storage with a playful look, the Babyletto Spruce Tree Bookcase pairs a tree-shaped silhouette with open shelving. Its white, high-gloss finish and 14 tiered shelves make books and small keepsakes visible, while the design gives the piece a more decorative role than a basic rectangular bookcase.

It measures 6"D x 41.13"W x 51.13"H and is intended for wall mounting. The included hardware and instructions support installation, the listed maximum weight capacity is 80 pounds.

Key takeaways

The Spruce Tree is made with poplar hardwood and CARB II-compliant MDF, with a non-toxic, low-VOC lacquer finish described as lead- and phthalate-safe. It is GREENGUARD Gold Certified. These material and finish details may matter to families furnishing a nursery, playroom, or bedroom, though the certification does not replace following the product’s mounting and care instructions.

The branches are described as holding 12–15 books each, making the shelf layout suited to displaying a child’s collection rather than hiding it behind doors. That figure is a stated capacity per branch, not a guarantee that every book size will fit. Buyers’ comments on capacity are mixed: some say it holds plenty, while others mention that taller books can be difficult to accommodate. Feedback on sturdiness is also divided, with reports of both a sturdy feel and branches breaking. Treat careful loading and wall mounting as important parts of setup.

Cleaning & care

The care instructions call for wiping the surface with a damp cloth and drying it thoroughly. The lacquered finish gives the white bookcase a polished look, but the listed care method is simple and specific, there is no need to assume that stronger cleaners or wet cleaning are appropriate.

Although the product information says no assembly is required, it does require wall mounting. Mounting hardware and instructions are included, so plan for that installation step and follow the supplied guidance. Customer feedback often describes setup as easy, but those comments do not remove the need to mount it securely.

Best use cases

This layout is a natural fit for a child’s reading corner where front-facing, easy-to-see books are part of the room. For example, it can hold a rotating selection of storybooks in a playroom while leaving favorite titles visible. Its tree shape also makes it a decorative alternative to a plain, box-shaped shelf when the furniture is meant to contribute to the room’s theme.

It makes sense if you want open book display, a white finish, and a distinctive silhouette in one piece. A conventional bookcase may suit a collection made up largely of tall volumes or anyone who prefers more uniform shelf space. The available customer feedback also includes divided opinions about value, so the design and stated capacity should be weighed against your room and the books you plan to store.

Practical questions

Does it need assembly? The product details say no assembly is required, but wall mounting is required. Mounting hardware and instructions are included.

How should the surface be cleaned? Wipe it with a damp cloth, then dry thoroughly, as directed in the care instructions.

Will it hold tall books? The branches are described as holding 12–15 books each, but buyer feedback is mixed and some report that taller books do not fit well. Consider the sizes in your collection before choosing it.

Is it worth it?

The Spruce Tree Bookcase is most compelling when its tree-shaped design and open display are central to the decision, not just the amount of storage. It offers documented capacity, a wall-mounted design, and a finish with stated safety and emissions credentials. It might not be a great match if your priority is accommodating many tall books or getting a conventional layout with consistent shelf space. Buyers’ views on sturdiness and value vary, so those points are worth considering alongside the room’s needs and the included mounting requirements.
