AUVON N001A Plug-In LED Backlit Night Lights, 4-Pack, Dimmable with Dual Sensors

Some night lights are meant to stay on, while others respond only when someone passes by. The AUVON N001A gives you both approaches, with separate motion-sensor and dusk-to-dawn modes.

Its backlit LED design reflects light onto the wall rather than shining directly outward. That makes it worth considering for nighttime routes through a bedroom, hallway, bathroom, or nursery.

The four-pack also makes it possible to place lights in several rooms. Would you rather set a steady low glow or have light come on only when movement is detected? This model lets you choose either mode.

Tips for day-to-day use

Choose AUTO mode for motion-triggered lighting: when the sensor detects movement in darkness or low ambient light, the light turns on and switches off after 60 seconds without detected motion. The stated detection range is 3–5 meters with a 120° field of view. Placement will affect what the sensor can detect, so position each unit where approaching movement is likely to fall within that area.

NIGHT mode uses the light sensor instead. It turns on in darkness and off when the room is bright, without requiring movement. For example, a hallway light set to NIGHT can provide a steady glow after dark, while AUTO may suit a path where light is needed only as someone walks through.

Brightness is adjustable by touch: a short press cycles through five levels, and a long press provides stepless adjustment from 1–50 lumens. The light retains its last brightness setting while it remains plugged in. Buyers also highlight the warm, indirect glow, sensor response, and ability to adjust brightness, those preferences can vary with placement and room lighting.

What you’ll notice day to day

Unlike a basic plug-in light with a fixed brightness or always-on operation, the N001A combines automatic sensing with touch dimming. The indirect backlight is intended to reduce direct glare, while the adjustable output lets you choose a softer or brighter setting for different rooms. Its compact wall-plug format is designed to leave the second outlet available.

A practical setup might use AUTO near a bedroom door and NIGHT in a bathroom or hall where a low glow is useful throughout the dark hours. The four lights let you spread that setup across multiple indoor locations. Keep in mind that the units are not water resistant, so they are not intended for exposure to water or damp conditions.

Should you buy it?

A solid pick if you want several plug-in lights with a choice between motion activation and dusk-to-dawn operation, plus more control over brightness than a fixed-output night light provides. The sensor modes also make it a more adaptable choice than a simple always-on light for routes used at different times of night.

It may not suit you if the intended spot requires a water-resistant light. For ordinary indoor areas, the main decision is whether the two automatic modes and adjustable warm backlight match how you want nighttime lighting to work.
