AQUASTRONG PSP200-HV 2 HP Pool Pump, 220V, 8,917 GPH, Single Speed

Pool circulation needs vary: some setups call for a fixed-speed pump with substantial flow, while others prioritize adjustable operation. The AQUASTRONG PSP200-HV is a single-speed, 2 HP pump designed for in-ground and above-ground pools.

Its listed maximum flow rate is 8,917 GPH, and the manufacturer lists suitability for pools up to 71,333 gallons. A transparent lid lets you check the filter basket, while the basket collects leaves, grit, and other debris.

The reinforced thermoplastic body is designed to resist corrosion. For plumbing installation, mount the included 2-inch adapters on the pump’s inlet and outlet before connecting the plumbing.

Usage tips

Plan the plumbing around the pump’s inlet and outlet: install the 2-inch adapters before connecting the 1-1/2-inch Schedule 40 PVC pipe. The transparent lid makes it easier to check the basket during routine pool care, so you can see when collected leaves or grit call for cleaning. The basket’s debris collection supports circulation by giving larger material a dedicated place to gather before it moves farther through the system.

This is a fixed single-speed design, so it suits pool owners who want straightforward circulation at one operating speed. An adjustable-speed pump offers a different approach for people who want to select among operating speeds, the PSP200-HV’s appeal is its specified single-speed setup and high listed flow rate. Its 220V power requirement is an important part of planning an installation.

What you get

The listed included component is the pool pump. The pump’s visible lid and large filter basket are practical details for everyday pool maintenance, while its 2 HP motor and maximum flow rating address the central job of moving water through a pool circulation system. The manufacturer also lists a two-year warranty.

Customer feedback highlights strong circulation, quiet operation, and straightforward installation. Some buyers also describe reliability concerns, including reports of parts breaking and leaks around the cover connection. These are individual customer experiences rather than a guarantee of how any particular unit will perform.

When it makes sense

The AQUASTRONG PSP200-HV is worth considering if your pool setup calls for a 220V, single-speed pump and you want a high-flow option with an accessible filter basket. It brings together a 2 HP motor, a listed maximum head of 70 feet, and a clear lid that helps make routine basket checks simple. For pool owners choosing a fixed-speed circulation setup, those specifications offer concrete criteria for matching a pump to the plumbing and pool requirements.
