AppleRound 8.5-Inch Dodgeball Playground Balls, 4-Pack with Pump and Textured Grip

At 8.5 inches in diameter, these red PVC playground balls come as a four-pack with a textured grip. Each ball weighs 250 grams. They arrive deflated, with a hand pump included for inflation. The balls are not foam and have no padding layer.

At a glance

The set is intended for group play, including dodgeball, handball, foursquare, and other playground games. All four balls are the same color, which makes them easy to group for activities at camps, schools, or home. Their textured surface is designed to provide a no-slip grip, while the included pump means the set does not require a separate pump for initial inflation.

The PVC construction is described as non-toxic and heavy-duty, and the balls are stated to conform to applicable toy safety requirements. That does not make them padded: if your priority is a softer foam ball for contact games, this set uses a different format. Buyers also describe the balls as fun and useful across different activities, and often find the pump convenient. Feedback is mixed on durability and air retention, with reports ranging from balls holding up to tearing or losing air quickly.

Fit and sizing

Each ball is listed at 8.5 inches in diameter and 250 grams, a size intended for kids, teens, and adults to use in recreational play. Buyers have mixed impressions of the size: some like it for younger children and backyard games, while others find it smaller than a typical kickball. If matching a particular game’s expected ball size matters, compare that listed diameter with what you use now rather than relying on the general “playground ball” label.

The pack contains four balls of the same color, not a mix of colors. That can suit a group that wants several balls for simultaneous play or activities, but it is less suited to someone looking for a color assortment. You’ll appreciate it if you need a simple set for casual games and can work with the stated dimensions.

How to use it

The balls arrive deflated for storage. To inflate one, insert the pump needle into the air hole and use the hand pump. To let air out, insert the needle without the pump barrel, the product description says no separate plug is needed to close the hole. The pump is for adult assembly and should be kept out of children’s reach.

For a recess game or a backyard gathering, the four-ball set gives a group several balls to play with, while the textured grip supports handling during throws and catches. The balls can be used indoors or outdoors, though the description does not specify a particular surface or care routine. Buyers generally like the ease of inflation, but reports of air loss vary, so check inflation before play if a firm ball is important for the activity.

When it makes sense

This set makes sense for casual group games when you want multiple same-color balls and a pump in one package. Compared with buying a single ball, four can be more practical for camps, schools, or gatherings where several people are playing, compared with a padded foam option, these PVC balls are unpadded. Better avoided if foam padding is a requirement. The mixed reports about durability and air retention also make them a less certain fit for anyone prioritizing dependable performance through frequent, demanding use.
